Joel Kocher is an American businessman. He worked at Dell for seven years, where he rose to become the #2 executive behind Michael Dell as President of Worldwide Marketing, Sales and Service. [1] He developed Dell's winning commercial and government strategy and execution. He is recognized for presiding over Dell’s explosive growth in the early to mid 1990s as its number 2 executive behind founder Michael Dell during the company’s meteoric rise to the Fortune 500.

In 1996, he became president of Power Computing, the first Mac clone company. The company successfully filed an IPO in May 1997. When Apple refused to renew Power's clone license, Kocher resigned when the Board refused to sue over the issue.

In January 1998, Kocher joined MicronPC as its president. He was promoted to chairman and CEO in June 1998. He completely transformed the company, selling off its unprofitable PC business to Gores Technology Group, merged with Interland (now Web.com) and rolled up the web hosting category to become the then largest global provider of hosting sites. During the Clinton Administration, Kocher was one of three industry leaders engaged to advise Vice President Gore and President Clinton on revamping GSA.

Kocher co-founded Neogenis Labs in 2010, a nutraceutical and nutritional company based on nitric oxide research from the University of Texas Institute of Molecular Science, which offers a line of science-based products for health and wellness. It is now known as humann.

Under Kocher’s leadership, humann is the recipient of the 2017 Nutrition Science Award by Nutrition Business Journal and a 9-time Inc. 5000 America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies Honoree. [2] Most recently, Joel was recognized as an Ernst & Young 2022 Entrepreneur of the Year Regional Winner. [3]

Kocher successfully grew humann’s SuperBeets line to receive the designation of the #1 Cardiologist Recommended Beet Brand for Cardiovascular Health Support. This recognition was based on findings from a leading independent survey conducted by IQVIA ProVoice Survey.

Kocher has a B.S. in marketing from the University of Florida. He attended Executive Programs at Stanford Business School and Wharton Business School of Management. An avid sailor and adventurer, he took part in an Antarctic expedition. He and his wife AnnMarie are a founding family of the Trinity Episcopal School in Austin, Texas.
