Joey Pendleton (born May 3,1946) is a former Democratic member of the Kentucky Senate,representing the 3rd District from 1993 through 2013. He previously served as Minority Whip. The 3rd district,according to redistricting legislation passed during the 2013 Extraordinary Session,includes Christian,Logan,and Todd counties.
Pendleton has served as chairman of the legislature's Tobacco Task Force,Pendleton was an advocate for tobacco growers and their financial interests. He also worked to promote agricultural diversity,and championed legislation to permit the agricultural and industrial development of the controversial hemp plant (which ultimately passed the Kentucky Senate in the 2013 Regular Session).
He has served on the Health &Welfare Committee. In 1998,he received the "Better Life Government Award" from the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities for support of legislation that created a state income tax deduction for long-term care insurance. The Brain Injury Association of Kentucky awarded Pendleton with the "S.T.A.R." Award in 1998 establishing the Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund. Pendleton serves as Project Manager for the Murray State University School of Agriculture. He was also named Outstanding Young Dairyman for the Southeastern United States in 1977 and received the 4-H Alumni Award in 1989. In 1996,he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Kentucky Association of Conversation Districts. Prior to his tenure in the Senate,Pendleton also served three years as a magistrate on the County Fiscal court in the county where he lives,Christian County Kentucky.

Timothy Peter Johnson is a retired American lawyer and politician who served as a United States senator from South Dakota from 1997 to 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the United States representative for South Dakota's at-large congressional district from 1987 to 1997 and in the state legislature from 1979 to 1987. Michael Owen Johanns is an American attorney and politician who served as a United States senator from Nebraska from 2009 to 2015. Wendell Hampton Ford was an American politician from Kentucky. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as Governor of Kentucky from 1971 to 1974, a member of the United States Senate for 24 years from 1974 to 1999. He was the first person to be successively elected lieutenant governor, governor, and United States senator in Kentucky history. He was the Senate Democratic whip from 1991 to 1999, and was considered the leader of the state's Democratic Party from his election as governor in 1971 until he retired from the Senate in 1999. At the time of his retirement he was the longest-serving senator in Kentucky's history, a mark which was then surpassed by Mitch McConnell in 2009. Ford is the last Democrat to have served as a Senator from the state of Kentucky.
Augustus Owsley Stanley I was an American politician from Kentucky. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 38th governor of Kentucky and also represented the state in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. From 1903 to 1915, Stanley represented Kentucky's 2nd congressional district in the House of Representatives, where he gained a reputation as a progressive reformer. Beginning in 1904, he called for an antitrust investigation of the American Tobacco Company, claiming they were a monopsony that drove down prices for the tobacco farmers of his district. As a result of his investigation, the Supreme Court of the United States ordered the breakup of the American Tobacco Company in 1911. Stanley also chaired a committee that conducted an antitrust investigation of U.S. Steel, which brought him national acclaim. Many of his ideas were incorporated into the Clayton Antitrust Act.
Glen Maxey is an American politician from Austin, Texas, who was the first openly gay member of the Texas Legislature. Active in the fight for gay rights, Maxey was a central figure in the establishment of facilities for the education and care of HIV-infected individuals, especially the AIDS Services of Austin (ASA). In 2008, he was an unsuccessful candidate for Tax Assessor-Collector in Travis County, Texas.

John P. Morse is an American former politician who was a state senator in the Colorado Senate from 2007 to 2013, serving as president of the senate in 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Morse represented Senate District 11, which encompassed at the time Manitou Springs, Colorado, and eastern Colorado Springs.
