John Abbott (born 15 February 1953 in Innisfail, Queensland) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s. He played in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership for the Canterbury-Bankstown club [2] and in the Brisbane Rugby League premiership for the Eastern Suburbs club, winning grand finals with them in 1977 [3] and 1978. He played predominantly as a second row forward.
Wayne James Bennett, also known by the nickname "Benny", is an Australian professional rugby league football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League (NRL). The Northern Suburbs Devils, or North Brisbane Devils, or often simply referred to as Norths for short, are a rugby league club representing the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. Strudwick later embarked on a coaching career in Queensland and England.
