John Lovelace, 5th Baron Lovelace

This John Lovelace (1672-1709) briefly held the title as the 5th Baron Lovelace following the death of his father, the 4th Baron Lovelace (also named John).

Life and Title

He was the son of John Lovelace, 4th Baron Lovelace, who was Governor of New York and New Jersey. [1]

Death

He survived his father by only a few weeks, dying in May 1709.

Succession

As he died as a child and without an heir, the title passed to his younger brother, Nevill Lovelace, 6th Baron Lovelace who became the 6th and final Baron Lovelace.
