Phajol Moolsan is a Thai boxer. At the 1988 Summer Olympics he won a bronze medal in the men's Bantamweight category, together with Jorge Julio Rocha of Colombia.
Bernardo José Piñango Figuera is a Venezuelan former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1990. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBA and The Ring bantamweight titles from 1986 to 1987 and the WBA super bantamweight title in 1988. As an amateur boxer, he won a silver medal in the bantamweight division (-54 kg) at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. In the final he lost to Cuba's Juan Hernández on points (0-5).
Héctor López Colín was a Mexican professional boxer. He challenged for the WBC lightweight title in 1993 and the WBO light welterweight title twice between 1995 and 1999. At regional level he held the WBC-NABF light welterweight title twice between 1992 and 1993, and the WBO-NABO light welterweight title between 1996 and 1997. As an amateur he represented Mexico at the 1984 Olympics, winning a silver medal in the bantamweight division.
George Kelly Scott, earlier George Cramne, is a retired Swedish professional boxer of Liberian descent. He won the Swedish championship five years in a row, took a silver medal in the Olympic games in Seoul 1988. He became a pro boxer and trained for the legendary Angelo Dundee and won the world champion belt for WBU. He never lost his belt in the ring, but would later have it taken away from him following a disagreement with his manager.
Hugh Russell was a Northern Irish professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1985. He held the British bantamweight title in 1983, and the British flyweight title from 1984 to 1985. As an amateur, he won bronze medals at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and the 1980 Summer Olympics, both in the flyweight division.
Robert Dale Brown, known as Dale Brown, is a Canadian former professional boxer who competed from 1995 to 2007. As an amateur he represented Canada in the light heavyweight division at the 1992 Summer Olympics, losing to the eventual gold medallist Torsten May in the round of 16.

Orlando Martínez was a Cuban bantamweight boxer, who won the gold medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Three years later he captured the gold at the 1975 Pan American Games. Orlando was awarded a hotly disputed 3–2 split decision over Great Britain's George Turpin in the 1972 Munich Olympics semifinal before coasting to a comfortable points win over future professional world bantamweight champion Alfonso Zamora in the final to win the division's gold medal.
Pentti Olavi Hämäläinen was a Finnish boxer. He competed at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics and won a gold and a bronze medal, respectively. He won two more bronze medals at European championships in 1951 and 1955. Domestically he won six Finnish titles between 1951 and 1956, two in flyweight, two in bantamweight and two in featherweight division. After the 1956 Olympics he turned professional and won five consecutive bouts. He lost his sixth bout in 1959 and retired from boxing, after which he worked as a mechanic and a policeman. Four of his brothers also competed in boxing at the national level. Pentti Hämäläinen died in 1984, aged 54, of undisclosed causes.

Emmanuel Lucero is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1998 to 2013. He is best known for his fight against Manny Pacquiao for the IBF super bantamweight title on 26 July 2003 at the Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles The fight went three rounds when Pacquiao won the fight by TKO.
Michael John Conlan is an Irish professional boxer. He challenged for the IBF featherweight title in 2023 and the WBA (Regular) featherweight title in 2022. As an amateur, he reached number one in the AIBA bantamweight world rankings, with achievements that include a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics and gold at the 2015 World Championships. He has been one of Ireland's most successful amateur fighters of all time. He turned professional in 2016 after misgivings with the amateur sport, and had his first bout in 2017.

Sulley Shittu is a Ghanaian amateur fly/bantamweight, and professional bantamweight boxer of the 1960s and 1970s who as an amateur represented Ghana at flyweight in the Boxing at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, losing to John McCafferty of the Republic of Ireland, won silver at the 1965 All-Africa Games in Brazzaville, won a gold medal at flyweight in the Boxing at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica, represented Ghana at bantamweight in the Boxing at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, losing to Horst Rascher of West Germany, and won a gold medal at bantamweight in the Boxing at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland and as a professional won the African Boxing Union (ABU) bantamweight title, and Commonwealth bantamweight title.
Paolo Curcetti was an Italian boxer. As an amateur he won the Italian flyweight title in 1957, 1959 and 1960 and competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics, where he was eliminated in the third bout. Between 1961 and 1964 he fought professionally in the bantamweight division, and had a record of 12 wins, 3 losses and one draw. His younger brother Gaetano was also an Olympic boxer.
Nyamaagiin Altankhuyag is a boxer from Mongolia, who competed in the bantamweight division at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the light-welterweight category at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He won a bronze medal in the light-welterweight category at the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing.
Jovito Rengifo is a Venezuelan former professional boxer who competed from 1977 to 1983 As an amateur, he competed in the men's bantamweight event at the 1976 Summer Olympics, where he defeated Baker Muwanga of Uganda in his first fight before losing to Orlando Martínez of Cuba.
The men's bantamweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 54 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 17 September to 1 October 1988. 48 boxers from 48 nations competed. Kennedy McKinney won the gold medal.

Moustafa Mohammed Saleh is an Iraqi boxer. He competed in the men's bantamweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He lost in the opening round of the tournament to John Lowey of Ireland.
