Career
McGregor started his career at Queen's Park after signing from Bargeddie Amateurs. He went on to make over a hundred appearances for the Spiders, becoming a mainstay in the side for over three seasons.
He then joined English side Liverpool. He stayed five years on Merseyside making no appearances for the 1st team.
McGregor returned to Glasgow with Rangers. He joined the club on a free transfer in 1987 and made his debut on 8 August 1987 in a 1–1 draw at home to Dundee United. He made twenty-nine appearances in his first season, including in the 1988 League Cup win over Aberdeen. McGregor's career subsequently stalled because of injuries, and he was forced to retire in 1992, joining the Rangers coaching staff soon after. He became the reserve team coach but left in 2003, replaced by John Brown.

Trevor McGregor Steven is an English former professional footballer who played as a right-sided midfielder. He progressed through the ranks at Burnley, making his debut in 1981 regularly scoring over the next two seasons. Everton boss Howard Kendall, who was building a new team based on youth, decided to make a bid for him. He became known as a member of the successful Everton side of the 1980s and went on to be part of the Rangers '9-in-a-row' team. Steven was also successful with France's Marseille and gained 36 international caps for England. He works as a presenter for RTÉ Sport in Ireland.

James Neil Alexander is a Scottish football coach and former professional player. He began his career in the Scottish Football League with spells at Stenhousemuir and Livingston, before joining Cardiff City in May 2001 for a fee of £130,000. At Ninian Park, he went on to make over 200 appearances in all competitions during a six-year spell at the club, helping them achieve promotion to the Football League First Division via the 2003 Football League Second Division play-off final. A contract dispute with the club led to a free transfer to fellow Football League Championship side Ipswich Town in 2007.

Gary John McSwegan is a Scottish former professional footballer. A striker, he began his career with Rangers, leaving to join Notts County in England. He returned to Scotland and had spells with Dundee United, Heart of Midlothian and Kilmarnock. Later in his career he went on to play for Ross County, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and Clyde. He made two international appearances for Scotland whilst a Hearts player.

James Thomson is a Scottish footballer. Nicknamed 'JT', Thomson was a central defender. Thomson's greatest achievements were during his 358 appearances for Queen of the South, where he was club captain. Thomson also enjoyed some success in shorter periods at Clyde and Arbroath and also played for Stenhousemuir. Thomson had a short spell as caretaker manager of Queen of the South during November and December 2016 and is currently player-manager of Kilsyth Rangers in the SJFA West Region Championship.
