John Michael Gyllenborg is an American football tight end for the Wyoming Cowboys.

Early life and high school

Gyllenborg attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the Wyoming Cowboys. [1] [2]

College career

Gyllenborg took a redshirt in 2021. [3] In 2022, he appeared in twelve games on special teams for the Cowboys, and one game as tight end where he hauled in three receptions for 21 yards. [4] [5] In week one of the 2023 season, Gyllenborg caught the fourth down 11-yard touchdown pass in double-overtime to help the Cowboys to an upset win over Texas Tech. [6] During the 2023 season, he had a breakout season, notching 23 receptions for 360 yards and three touchdowns. [7] [8] Gyllenborg entered the 2024 season as the Cowboys starting tight end. [9] In the 2024 season, Gyllenborg had 31 receptions for 437 yards and three touchdowns. His longest reception was for 63 yards and a touchdown against San Jose State.
