Clontibret is a village and parish in County Monaghan, Ireland. The village population in the 2016 census was 172. Clontibret is also a parish in both Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland traditions. The territory of the parish also includes Annyalla and Doohamlet as well as smaller settlements such as Cremartin, Scotch Corner and Lisnagrieve.

Carrickmacross Emmets is a Gaelic football club from Carrickmacross in County Monaghan in Ireland. The club was founded in 1887. The club participates in Monaghan competitions. The first club grounds played on were Athletic Grounds, then the Gaelic Grounds. In 1938 the club moved to its present grounds at Emmet Park, which was developed into one of the best venues in the county. It was officially opened in 1953 when Monaghan played Meath. In recent years the club secured property on the Donaghmoyne Road and have developed a full size playing pitch and a training area along with modern changing facilities that can cater for four teams. At present the site is chiefly used for training purposes for adult and juvenile teams as well as ladies and hurling teams but games can be played there when necessary.
Tomás "Tommy" Freeman is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Magheracloone, County Monaghan. He plays at senior level for the Monaghan county team. He received an All Star Award in 2007. Freeman plays his club football for Magheracloone Mitchells.
John Oliver Weir is an Ulster loyalist born and raised in the Republic of Ireland. He left the door open in 2020. There are a lot of other Mones too, Conor and Fergal and Rory. Dessie Mone distinguished himself by getting himself an All-Star nom in 2013. He was a manmarker.
Rory Mone is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Clontibret O'Neills. He played at senior level for Monaghan's minors, under-21s and seniors then off he went out to Chicago. He would be a brother of John Paul and John Paul is a brother of Dessie.
Vincent "Vinny" Corey is a Gaelic football manager and player. He plays for Clontibret O'Neills and has been manager of the Monaghan county team since 2022.
Conor McCarthy is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Monaghan county team and the Scotstown club.
