Ivan Moody is a composer born in London, England, in 1964. He studied composition with at London University, York University and privately with John Tavener. He also studied Eastern Orthodox theology at the University of Joensuu in Finland. Moody is active as a conductor, having directed ensembles such as Voces Angelicae, the Kastalsky Chamber Choir, Capilla Peña Florida (Spain), Cappella Romana, the Choir of the Cathedral of St George, Novi Sad, (Serbia) the KotorArt Festival Choir (Montenegro), the Orthodox Choir of the University of Joensuu (Finland) and Ensemble Alpha (Portugal); and as a widely published musicologist. His research interests include the music of Eastern Europe, especially 20th century and contemporary music from Russia and the Balkans, the music of the Orthodox Church in the modern era, music and spirituality, music as theology, Serbian church music, the aesthetics of Modernism and Postmodernism and their intersection with Orthodox church music and the musical culture of the Mediterranean.

She has a preference for Baroque and Classical periods of the repertoire, with a focus on the music by Johann Sebastian Bach, playing it on the piano. She has performed his Well-Tempered Clavier from memory since her student years.
Nikolai Girshevich Kapustin was a Soviet composer and pianist of Russian-Jewish descent. He played with early Soviet jazz bands such as the Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra. In his compositions, mostly for piano, he used a fusion of jazz and classical forms. He and other pianists recorded his works.
In a Persian Market is a piece of light classical music for orchestra with optional chorus by Albert Ketèlbey who composed it in 1920. Subtitled Intermezzo Scene, it was published by Bosworth in 1921. It evokes exotic images of camel-drivers, jugglers, and snake-charmers. When it was first published in a version for piano, it was advertised as an "educational novelty".

He was particularly noted for his partnership with the violinist David Oistrakh and the pianist Lev Oborin in a renowned piano trio from 1940 until his death. After Mstislav Rostropovich and Daniil Shafran, he is spoken of as one of the pre-eminent Russian cellists of the 20th century.
Jerusalem-Yerushalayim is an oratorio composed by Antony Pitts between 2006-2008, and is scored for SATB soloists, semi-chorus, full chorus, and ensemble including harp, piano, and organ. The oratorio tells the Biblical story of Jerusalem and the text is based directly on the Old Testament. Unusually, it includes Hebrew transliterations of many names and places. It was first performed in a chamber version by TONUS PEREGRINUS as part of the Opera Fringe festival in Down Cathedral, Downpatrick in Northern Ireland on 8 June 2008. The North American premiere was given by Choral Arts Cleveland, conducted by Martin Kessler in May 2012.
