John R. Little is best known as a writer of horror and dark fantasy fiction. He was born in London, Ontario, Canada on August 16, 1955, and he currently resides in Ayr, ON Canada. John R. Little has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario where his major was Computer Science and he minored in Math. He has been publishing fiction since 1982 with his work "Volunteers Needed" published in the February, 1982 issue of Cavalier magazine. John R. Little's short story "Tommy's Christmas," first published in Twilight Zone Magazine in 1983, was chosen by Isaac Asimov, Terry Carr, and Martin Greenberg to appear in their 1984 anthology 100 Great Fantasy Short Short Stories. "Tommy's Christmas" has since been published in many different countries and languages. John R. Little continues to currently write novels, novellas, and short stories. His recent work has received many award nominations including the Black Quill and Bram Stoker Award.

Cemetery Dance Publications is an American specialty press publisher of horror and dark suspense. Cemetery Dance was founded by Richard Chizmar, a horror author, while he was in college. It is associated with Cemetery Dance magazine, which was founded in 1988. They began to publish books in 1992. They later expanded to encompass a magazine and website featuring news, interviews, and reviews related to horror literature.

By Bizarre Hands is the first collection of short stories by American writer Joe R. Lansdale, published in 1989. The collection was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award for best fiction collection, and contains two stories which won Stokers. It has an introduction by Lewis Shiner. This book was re-issued as By Bizarre Hands Rides Again in 2010. The re-issue contains a new introduction by Joe R. Lansdale and new artwork by Alex McVey. This book is limited to 300 copies and is signed by both writer and artist. It also contains two stories not in the original issue.

Bad Moon Books is a publishing company owned by Roy K. Robbins in Garden Grove, California. In the middle of 1986, they began as a bookseller only, but in 2007 they began publishing. Their works include many Black Quill Award and Bram Stoker Award winners and nominees. Bad Moon Books' publications include limited edition paperbacks and hardcovers.
Cargo Cult Press was launched in 2008 by Brian and Beth Cartwright to publish limited edition books in the horror genre. Cargo Cult Press is particularly notable for bringing to the collector's market writers such as Andersen Prunty and Gina Ranalli, known primarily in for their work in the Bizarro genre. Cargo Cult Press titles were distributed only through the Horror Mall website and a small number of specialty booksellers. Despite the low print runs typical of the small press, their first publication, "Population Zero", was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award in Superior Achievement in Long Fiction.
