John Timperley was an English badminton & squash player. Born in 1931 he was capped by the England badminton team and reached the National number one ranking before switching to squash. During his squash career he played for Surrey and captained the Surrey over 45's. He became a coach and official, refereeing the British Open Squash Championships Final at Wembley. [1] He was married to June Timperley née White a leading badminton player. [2]

He competed in the All England Badminton Championships from 1954 until 1958. [3]

Susan Devlin Peard is a former badminton player who represented both the US and Ireland in international competition. She is the daughter of J. Frank Devlin, an Irish badminton great, who moved his family to the United States in the late 1930s. She is the older sister of Judy Devlin Hashman, with whom she won numerous international women's doubles championships, including six titles at the prestigious All-England Championships. The Devlin sisters won a record ten United States women's doubles titles between 1953 and 1966. They also formed a doubles pairing that won all of its individual matches for the world champion U.S. Uber Cup teams of 1957 and 1960. In 1960 Susan Devlin married Irish badminton player Frank Peard and thereafter resided in Ireland. She won two Irish national women's doubles titles and played Uber Cup for Ireland in the '62-'63 and '65-'66 campaigns. In 1976 she was inducted into the U.S. Badminton Hall of Fame, now known as the Walk of Fame. In 2009, both Susan and Judy were inducted into the Goucher College athletics Hall of Fame.

Alistair Kim Bruce-Lockhart was a Scottish professional squash player from the Bruce Lockhart family.

Marian Horsley née Edith Marian Bagshaw Mann (1893-1958) was an English badminton player. She came to prominence whilst still at school and with a reputation as a fitness fanatic gained 24 England caps. She competed in the All England Championships winning two titles in 1929 and 1931. Twenty years later she won the Berks, Bucks and Oxon title four times, the last aged 60.

Alan Titherley was an English badminton player. Born in 1903 he started to play badminton in the early 1920s and was soon selected by Cheshire. He was capped by England in the 1931/2 season and made 19 international appearances, the last in 1946/7. He competed in the All England Championships reaching three finals. He later won the All England Veterans doubles three times retiring unbeaten from the event in 1954. He died on 24 June 1963 at his home in Wallasey.

Ruth Dalsgaard née Frederiksen was a former Danish badminton player. She won a national championship title every year from 1931 to 1935, teaming up with her sister Gerda. Further wins came in 1937 and 1942, the latter with her new partner Jytte Thayssen. In addition to this she won seven national titles in mixed doubles from 1933 to 1942. Her greatest achievement was winning the 1939 All England Badminton Championships doubles title with Tonny Ahm.
