The Cymru Premier, known as the JD Cymru Premier for sponsorship reasons, is the national football league of Wales. It has both professional and semi-professional status clubs and is at the top of the Welsh football league system. Prior to 2002, the league was known as the League of Wales (LoW), but changed its name as part of a sponsorship deal to the Welsh Premier League. The league was rebranded as the Cymru Premier for the 2019–20 season.
Bangor City Football Club is a Welsh inactive football club from the City of Bangor, Gwynedd. They started the 2021–22 season in the Cymru North the second level of the Welsh football league system, but on 30 November were suspended from any football activity due to non-payment of wages. On 18 February 2022 the club announced they had withdrawn from the league and the Football Association of Wales confirmed the club's results from the league that season has been expunged. The club subsequently failed to apply for tier 2 or tier 3 licences, leaving them unable to play in any Football Association of Wales league for the 2022–23 season.
John Martin Bokas Wallace was a Scottish professional footballer and manager. Wallace played as a goalkeeper, and has the unique distinction of being the only player ever to play in the English, Welsh and Scottish Cups in the same season; this was set during the 1966–67 season where he played in the FA Cup and Welsh Cup for Hereford United, and in the Scottish Cup when he moved to Berwick Rangers.
Mark Smyth is an English football midfield player who plays for Welsh Premier League side Prestatyn Town. Smyth started his career playing for Liverpool. Smyth made one appearance for Liverpool, coming on as a substitute in a Football League Cup quarter final win at Tottenham Hotspur in December 2004.
Gary Taylor-Fletcher is an English footballer manager and former professional player who manages AFC Crewe. Prior to marrying his wife in June 2004 he was known as Gary Fletcher, adopting the surname Taylor-Fletcher in football terms from the beginning of the 2004–05 season.

The 2010 Welsh Cup Final was the final of the 124th season of the main domestic football cup competition in Wales, the Welsh Cup. The final was played at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli on 1 May 2010 and marked the second time the final has been staged at the stadium. The match was contested by Port Talbot Town, who beat Bala Town 1–0 in their semi-final, and Bangor City who beat Prestatyn Town 2–0 in their semi-final.

The 2017–18 Welsh Premier League was the 26th season of the Welsh Premier League, the highest football league within Wales since its establishment in 1992. The New Saints are the defending champions. The season fixtures were announced on 23 June 2017. The season began on 11 August 2017 and concluded in April 2018; the Europa League play-offs followed afterwards. Teams played each other twice on a home and away basis, before the league split into two groups at the end of January 2018 – the top six and the bottom six.
Matthew Thomas Warburton is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for National League side Solihull Moors.
