Jon Prusmack

Jon Prusmack (died December 21, 2018) [1] was a former United States rugby player and sports businessman. He was the founder and CEO of United World Sports (UWS), a sports marketing and event company. [2] UWS owns and operates the annual USA Sevens, an international rugby sevens tournament held every March at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The USA Sevens is the largest annual rugby sevens tournament in North America. [2] UWS also owns and operates the annual Collegiate Rugby Championship, a college rugby sevens tournament held every June at Talen Energy Stadium located outside of Philadelphia. [2]

Prusmack also started Scrumdown in 1975, a magazine about rugby in the United States, which was later renamed Rugby Mag, and whose publication continues online as "Rugby Today". [3]

During his playing days, Prusmack played for Westchester RFC and the New York Athletic Club, and later served at NYAC coach and also as a referee for the Met NY RFU. [4] Prusmack was the first American to write a rugby coaching book. [4] Prusmack was inducted into the New York Athletic Club Hall of Fame in 2012.[ citation needed ]

Before founding United World Sports, Prusmack was involved in a number of other successful ventures including DHS Technologies LLC, which is best known for its Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter, DRASH. In 2003, he was the EY Metropolitan New York 2003 Entrepreneur Of The Year in the Manufacturing & Distribution category. [5]

Prusmack was inducted into the US Rugby Hall of Fame in 2013. [1] He and his wife Patricia donated the Prusmack Rugby Complex at the US Naval Academy where he was a member of the Class of 1966.[ citation needed ]

Prusmack died in December 2018 at age 76. [1]

His .754 winning percentage in NCAA baseball tournament competition is the highest among head coaches in college baseball history.

Heather Moody is an American water polo player, who won a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She was team captain of the US Women's National Team that captured the bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and the only member of the team not from California. Her position is center forward.

Wolf Wigo is an American water polo player and water polo coach. He has played competitive water polo at the national level since age 13. Wigo was a four-year All-America collegiate water polo player and led his Stanford University team to two consecutive NCAA Championships in 1993 and 1994. A member of the U.S. National Polo Team since 1993, Wigo competed in the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Since 2005, he has been the head coach of the UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) men's water polo program. In 2008 he began coaching the UCSB women's water polo team.

Natalie Golda is a former American water polo player and currently the head coach of the newly formed Fresno State Bulldogs water polo team to begin competition in 2018. Considered one of the greatest women's water polo players of all time, her senior leadership helped guide the 2005 UCLA Bruins to their seventh national championship. In May 2005 Golda received the Peter J. Cutino Award, given to the best player in women's collegiate water polo. She was also a member of the US Water Polo Team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2015, she was inducted into the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame.

The Bowling Green Falcons are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Bowling Green State University (BGSU), in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. Merrill M. Moses is a United States Olympic silver medalist, three-time Olympian, and three-time Pan American Games gold medalist water polo goalkeeper. He played college water polo for Pepperdine University, where he was an All-American and helped lead the team to the 1997 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship. Moses is now associate head coach in water polo at Pepperdine.
