Jonas Nainys (born 25 June 1983), better known by his stage name DJ Jovani, is a Lithuanian music producer, radio and television host. [1]
Jonas Nainys was born on 25 June 1983 in Pasvalys. He attended Petras Vileišis school in Pasvalys. He enrolled in Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy and earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy.
In 1998, Nainys made his debut appearance as a DJ at a school event. In 2003, he began performing at several nightclubs. After that, Nainys started his broadcasting career on the local radio station, Saulės Radijas. [2]
In 2006, he first gained fame through his appearance on the LNK reality show Lith. Ideali pora and won it. [3] [4]
Nainys hosted the Jovani At Club program that focussed on nightlife and nightclub culture. During this program, Jonas interviewed many famous musicians, including Fedde Le Grand, Funkerman, Tiësto, David Guetta, James Zabiela. Soon after, Nainys became a host at the radio station ZIP FM.
In 2007, he co-founded the Radistai DJs, a musical group and event-management firm, with Rolandas Mackeviius. [5] [6]
In 2013, Nainys released the music album On Air, which was recorded in collaboration with Vaidas Baumila, Justinas Jarutis, Linas Adomaitis, and others. It contains thirteen dance tracks, and 15,000 copies were sold in Lithuania.
Radistai DJs released their second album, On Road, after a three-year hiatus, which likewise sold 15,000 copies. One song on this album, "Good Things", was noticed by the American record label Warner Music and released under its name. They also started organizing arena events in 2013. [7] [8]
In 2017, he nominated for the Electronic Act of the Year award at the Music Association Awards of the Year. [9] [10]
Radistai DJs celebrated Christmas in 2019 at the Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas. Musicians, including Vaidas Baumila, Justinas Jarutis, Mantas Wizard, Donatas Montvydas, Monika Linkytė, Flying Saucer Gang, and Mad Money, performed at these events. [11]
In 2019, Radistai DJs launched the Inconvenient Questions Show (Lith. Nepatogūs klausimai). The show is broadcast by the news portal Delfi.lt and many famous Lithuanian personalities have appeared on the show. [12]
Rytas Vilnius is a professional basketball club based in Vilnius, Lithuania. They compete domestically in the Lithuanian Basketball League and the King Mindaugas Cup, while internationally in the FIBA Champions League since 2020–21. Rytas have won two EuroCup titles, seven Lithuanian League titles, five LKF / King Mindaugas Cups and three Baltic championships. The team plays its domestic home games in the Active Vilnius Arena and they share the Twinsbet (ASG) Arena with BC Wolves for their European home games. The club was founded in 1997 from another club, BC Statyba.
Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 24 times since its debut in 1994, where "Lopšinė mylimai" performed by Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". Lithuania withdrew from the contest, not returning until 1999. The sixth place of the song "We Are the Winners" performed by LT United in 2006 is Lithuania's best result in the contest. The country reached the top ten for a second time in 2016, when "I've Been Waiting for This Night" by Donny Montell finished ninth, and for the third time in 2021, finishing eighth with "Discoteque" by The Roop. The Lithuanian participant broadcaster in the contest is Lietuvos nacionalinis radijas ir televizija (LRT).
Darius and Girėnas stadium is a multi-use stadium in Kaunas, Lithuania. With a seating capacity of 15,026, it is the largest stadium in Lithuania and the Baltic states. Located in the Ąžuolynas park in Žaliakalnis district, it serves as a venue for football matches, athletic competitions, and other events. In 1998, the stadium was renovated according to UEFA regulations, and in 2005, it was modernised with the installation of the biggest stadium television screen in the Baltic states. The latest renovation started in 2018 and ended in 2022. During the sporting season, at least 50 events are held here annually.
Žalgirio Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the New Town of Kaunas, Lithuania. The arena is located on an island of the Nemunas River and is the largest indoor arena in the Baltics. The arena's maximum possible seating capacity for basketball games is 15,415, and 20,000 spectators for concerts. The Žalgiris Arena replaced the Kaunas Sports Hall as a major venue in the city.
BC Prienai was a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Prienai. They played domestically in the Lithuanian Basketball League every year since winning the promotion in 2009. During the 2008–09 season, then called Rūdupis, they became the champion of the NKL and won the challenge match for a slot in the LKL. In their debut LKL season Rūdupis took seventh place, while next two seasons brought BC Prienai two bronze LKL medals. BC Prienai played in EuroCup 2011–12 with moderate success; the team won 3 games out of 6, but nonetheless failed to qualify for the next stage. More recently, the team has become a strong competitor in domestic tournaments, more than once upsetting teams such as Žalgiris Kaunas and Lietuvos rytas Vilnius. In December 2017, in a highly publicized move, Vytautas signed American basketball players and brothers LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball.
Rokas Žilinskas was a Lithuanian journalist and politician. He was elected to the Seimas in 2008 and was a member of the Lithuanian Parliament until his death. He was the first openly gay member of the parliament.

The national final took place over eight weeks and involved 12 artists and 12 songs competing in two different competitive streams. The results of each show were determined by the combination of votes from a jury panel and a public vote, and "This Time" performed by Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila eventually emerged as the winner following the final.

The national final took place over 10 weeks and involved 28 artists competing in two different competitive streams: artists that applied with a song and artists that were matched with a song from the song submissions LRT received because they did not have a song. The results of each show were determined by the combination of votes from a jury panel and a public vote. In the final, six artists and songs remained and "I've Been Waiting For This Night" performed by Donny Montell was selected as the winner.
The 2016 Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė, also known as KIDY Tour – Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė for sponsorship purposes, was the first edition of the newly formed Lithuanian King Mindaugas Cup. It's managed by the Lithuanian Basketball League and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The competition was held in Vilnius, in the Siemens Arena on February 19–21, 2016.
