Jonathan Clay is an American singer-songwriter from Magnolia, Texas. [1]

Career

He released his first EP Whole New Me in 2006 on iTunes. Atlantic Records signed Clay to a development deal in 2007. [2] In June 2007 Clay released his second album Back to Good. MTV music supervisors found his work on MySpace. ABC Family used Clay's "After All" in Lincoln Heights in 2008. [3] Levi's and True Anthem sponsored Clay's give away of 140,000 downloads of Acoustic Sessions in 2008. [4] In 2010 Clay recorded Everything She Wants with producer Kevin Kadish. "Gypsy Woman", a cut from that album, was used in the U.S. television series Sons of Anarchy in 2011. [5] In late 2010 Clay formed a new band called Jamestown Revival. The duo teamed Clay with his childhood friend Zach Chance and within six months of forming the band the duo were featured in Rolling Stone magazine for the Cover of the Rolling Stone contest. "Heart on Fire", a song featuring Clay's vocals, was featured in the 2012 comedy LOL starring Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Ashley Greene, Adam Sevani, and Douglas Booth. Clay sang three additional songs for the film. [6] . Jonathan Clay along with Jamestown partner Zach Chance won a Tony Award for best musical for The Outsiders for the music and lyrics of this Broadway musical. [7]

<i>Company</i> (musical) 1940 musical comedy

Company is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The original 1970 production was nominated for a record-setting 14 Tony Awards, winning six. Joseph Mantello is an American actor and director known for his work on stage and screen. He first gained prominence for his Broadway acting debut in the original production of Tony Kushner's two-part epic play Angels in America (1993–1994), for which he received a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play nomination. He has since acted in acclaimed Broadway revivals of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart (2011) and Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie (2017).

Jamestown Revival is an American folk duo made up of Zach Chance and Jonathan Clay. The childhood friends from Magnolia, Texas, write songs about everyday life that are a combination of harmonies that merge Southern country, Americana and Western rock music. Their first album Utah was originally self-released in early 2014 and then re-released by Republic Records later the same year. iTunes named Utah Best of 2014: Singer-Songwriter Album of the Year. Jamestown Revival has been featured in Rolling Stone magazine and covered in the Wall Street Journal. The band has made appearances at music festivals in the U.S., including the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin, Texas, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and a musical appearance on Conan.
