Jonathan Peter Ling (born c. 1954) is an Australian businessman and the former chief executive officer (CEO) of Fletcher Building, a New Zealand construction company and one of the largest companies in New Zealand. [1] He joined the company in 2003. His appointment as CEO was announced in May 2006, and he took up the position in September 2006. [2] [3] He announced his retirement in June 2012, effective in September. Following his retirement, he returned to Australia. [4] [5]

Fletcher Building Limited is one of the largest listed companies in New Zealand, with a market capitalisation of over NZ$4 billion. The company was split from Fletcher Challenge in 2001, formerly New Zealand's largest business and multinational.

Ling was born in Melbourne, and is a fifth-generation Australian descended from migrants who left southern China in 1830. [1] [3] He was educated at Scotch College Melbourne [6] and completed his post-school studies in Melbourne, acquiring a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringfrom the University of Melbourne in 1975, and a master's of business administration from RMIT in 1985. From its creation until February 2011 he was CEO of one of Australia's largest transport companies, Asciano Limited, and he is now CEO of the transport firm McAleese.

Mainzeal Property and Construction Ltd was one of the leading New Zealand property and construction companies until being placed into receivership on 6 February 2013 and then being placed into liquidation on 28 February 2013. According to its website, Mainzeal has been involved in delivering $7.5 billion of construction projects across New Zealand and employs 400+ people. It is held by Richina Global Real Estate which is part of Richina Inc, an independent and closely held New Zealand-headquartered Asia Pacific holding company.

Coles Group Limited is an Australian public company operating numerous retail chains. It was Australia's second-largest retailer, behind Woolworths Limited, until it was acquired by Western Australian public company Wesfarmers, with transfer of ownership on 23 November 2007.
