Jonathan Pienaar (born 16 September 1962) is a South African actor, writer and comedian who has been active for over 20 years. He has appeared in both South African and international films and television shows including Skin , Black Venus , Fried Barry , and To the Ends of the Earth , Cape Town , Troy: Fall of a City , and Deutschland 86 .
Pienaar attended high school at the Marist Brothers College (now Sacred Heart College) in Observatory, Johannesburg. He took a drama course at Technikon Pretoria. [1]

Jacobus Francois Pienaar is a retired South African rugby union player. He played flanker for South Africa from 1993 until 1996, winning 29 international caps, all of them as captain. He is best known for leading South Africa to victory in the 1995 Rugby World Cup. After being dropped from the Springbok team in 1996, Pienaar went on to a career with English club Saracens.

Pierre de Villiers Pienaar (1904–1978) was a South African Afrikaans academic and Professor at University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and later at University of Pretoria, who pioneered Speech Language Therapy in South Africa and specialising in Audiology and Lexicography as well as being an Afrikaans author. As Lexicographer in 1973, he was part of the group of authors that established the Afrikaans Explanatory Dictionary alongside Prof M.S.B. Kritzinger and Prof F.J. Labuschagne.

Fried Barry is a 2020 South African black comedy science fiction horror film written and directed by Ryan Kruger. The film has its world premiere at the 2020 Cinequest Film Festival. The film stars Gary Green, Bianka Hartenstein, Sean Cameron Michael, Chanelle de Jager, Joey Cramer, and Jonathan Pienaar. The story follows a drug addict whose body is taken over by an alien, who goes on a joyride through Cape Town, South Africa.
