The Salt Lake City Stars are an American minor-league professional basketball team. They are a member of the NBA G League, based in West Valley City, Utah, and are affiliated with the Utah Jazz. Before the 2016-17 season, they were based in Boise, Idaho. Playing their home games at the Maverik Center, the Stars serve as a developmental platform for aspiring basketball players.
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the official minor league organization of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. At the conclusion of the 2013–14 NBA season, 33% of NBA players had spent time in the NBA D-League, up from 23% in 2011. As of the 2023–24 season, the league consists of 31 teams, 29 of which are either single-affiliated or owned by an NBA team, along with the NBA G League Ignite exhibition team, which was folded by the league at the end of the season. Within the G League, players have the chance to get a contract from a current NBA team, and can land themselves a spot on an official roster.
Ronald Edmund Dupree Jr. is an American former professional basketball player who played six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also played numerous seasons in the NBA Development League, and spent time in Europe and Argentina. After his playing retirement, Dupree was a college basketball assistant coach and works as a scout for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Scott David Burrell is an American basketball coach and former player who is currently the men's basketball head coach at Southern Connecticut State University. He has played internationally and was also a professional baseball player. In 1990, Burrell was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays of MLB. He played in Minor League Baseball during the 1990 and 1991 seasons. After ending his baseball career, he was drafted in 1993 by the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA. He was later traded to the Golden State Warriors and then the Chicago Bulls, where he won a championship ring. He next played with the New Jersey Nets and then finished his NBA career with the Hornets in 2000–01. He played in other professional basketball leagues through the 2005–06 season.
Coby Joseph Karl is an American former professional basketball player who is an assistant coach of the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the son of NBA head coach George Karl.
Larry Brett Krystkowiak is a retired American professional basketball player, and former head coach of the Utah Utes men's basketball team.

The Delaware Blue Coats are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Wilmington, Delaware, and are affiliated with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Blue Coats play their home games at Chase Fieldhouse. The team was founded in 2007 as the Utah Flash and served as an affiliate to the Utah Jazz. In April 2013, the 76ers acquired the team and relocated it to Delaware, where it played as the Delaware 87ers until 2018. The team moved to the Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, Delaware, in 2018 and were rebranded as the Delaware Blue Coats. As with the Sixers, the Blue Coats are owned by Josh Harris and David Blitzer under Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE). The team won the 2022–23 G League championship.
Roger L. Reid is an American former college basketball coach who most recently guided the Southern Utah University (SUU) men's basketball team. He served as head coach at Brigham Young University (BYU) from 1989 to 1996 and assistant coach for the NBA's Phoenix Suns. He has also coached at the high school, junior college and international levels. In addition, he played for former NBA coach Dick Motta at Weber State University.
Jeff Reed Judkins is a retired American professional basketball player and coach. He coached the Brigham Young University (BYU) Cougars women's basketball team from 2001 to 2022, after serving as their assistant coach in 2000–01. A 6'6", 185-lb shooting guard, he played college basketball at the University of Utah from 1974 to 1978 and had a career in the NBA from 1978 to 1983.
The Boise State Broncos men's basketball team represents Boise State University in the Mountain West Conference. The Broncos are led by head coach Leon Rice, hired in March 2010, and play their home games on campus at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, Idaho. BSU's most recent appearance in the NCAA tournament was in 2024.
Osama Mohd Fathi Daghles, commonly known by the nickname Sam Daghles, is a Jordanian professional basketball player of Palestinian origin. He currently works as an assistant coach for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League. Born in Taiyuan, Shanxi, he lived in San Diego, California, where he played for James Madison High School.
David Wayne Rice is an American college basketball coach for Salt Lake Community College. He is also the former head men's basketball coach at UNLV where he ranks as the program's third-winningest coach. He spent the 2016-2017 season as an assistant coach at the University of Nevada, Reno, and an assistant coach at the University of Washington for the past three seasons (2017–present).
Kevin Young is an American basketball coach and former player who is head coach of the Brigham Young University (BYU) men's basketball team. Young has held various coaching roles at the professional, minor league, and collegiate levels in the United States and in other countries. Immediately prior to joining the Cougars, Young was associate head coach for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Grant Alexander Jerrett is an American professional basketball player for Utsunomiya Brex of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the University of Arizona.
Ta'Quan Zimmerman is an American professional basketball player. He signed with NCAA division 1 Long Island University (NEC) before finishing up his college career in Canada at Thompson Rivers University. After his time at Thompson Rivers University, Zimmerman entered the 2014 NBA draft. Zimmerman did not get drafted making him an unrestricted free agent, but then was later signed by NBA Utah Jazz. Zimmerman spent 2 years with their G-League team Salt Lake City Stars.
Bryan Gates is an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers since 2023. Gates began his coaching experience with the Idaho Stampede and the Rapid City Thrillers during the late 1990s. In the United States Basketball League, Gates was the head coach for the Oklahoma Storm and the Florence Flyers during the 2000s. During this time period, Gates and the Storm reach the league's championship game during 2000.
