Felipe González Márquez is a Spanish lawyer, professor, and politician, who was the Secretary-General of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) from 1974 to 1997, and the 3rd Prime Minister of Spain since the restoration of democracy, from 1982 to 1996. To date, he remains the longest-serving Prime Minister of Spain to be freely elected.
The assassination of Prime Minister Luis Carrero Blanco, also known by its code name Operación Ogro had far-reaching consequences within the politics of Spain. Admiral Carrero Blanco was assassinated in Madrid by the Basque separatist group ETA on 20 December 1973. The assassination is considered to be the biggest attack against the Francoist State since the end of the Spanish Civil War in 1939.

The Argentine Anticommunist Alliance was a far-right death squad founded in Argentina in 1973 and particularly active under Isabel Perón's rule (1974–1976). José Miguel Beñaran Ordeñana was a Basque paramilitarist and a key figure in the political evolution of the Basque separatist paramilitary Euskadi ta Askatasuna (ETA). Often known by his nom de guerreArgala (Slim), he took part in the so called Operation Ogre, which consisted in the assassination of Luis Carrero Blanco, Spain's Prime Minister, in 1973. Five years later, he was in turn assassinated by a car bomb in Anglet, French Basque Country by a group directed by far right members inside the Spanish Navy. This group reportedly received assistance from people such as former OAS member Jean Pierre Cherid, former Triple A Argentine member José María Boccardo and Italian neofascist Mario Ricci, member of Avanguardia Nazionale.

A Samarian Costeño, he became president of the Sovereign State of Magdalena, and Antioquia, Governor of Panama, and held various Ministries during his career as a politician.
José María Lafragua Ibarra was a Mexican liberal lawyer, politician, diplomat, and writer. He was born in Puebla, 2 April 1813, the son of Lt. Col. José María Lafragua and Mariana de Ibarra and Veytia. He served in as Minister of Interior in the government of liberal President Ignacio Comonfort. He was the first director of the National Library of Mexico and key author of the Mexican Civil and Penal Codes.

He was appointed Ambassador of Spain to the United Kingdom in Queen Victoria's rule, and Ambassador of Spain to Portugal. He was the Spanish Prime Minister responsible for granting Chile its independence. He was a member of the Moderate Party, and occupied three times the post of Spanish Congressman or Member of Parliament, for Cádiz, Jaén, and the Canary Islands. He was provisional Minister of Justice for five days. He was head of the Spanish civil troops "Milicia Nacional". He was Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece and Knight of the Order of Charles III. He founded four newspapers in Spain, and was the noted Spanish poet Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer's benefactor.

Marcelino Valentín Gamazo (1879–1936) was a Spanish lawyer, Secretary of the Bar Association of Madrid on three occasions, Dean of the lawyers of the State and the 65th Attorney General of Spain. He was born in Rubielos Altos on August 14, 1879 and died in El Cerrajón on August 6, 1936. He tried unsuccessfully to condemn the socialist leader, Francisco Largo Caballero, as head of the 1934 Revolution. He was murdered at the beginning of the Civil War.
