Jose DeCamps

Jose Decamps (born in Santiago, Dominican Republic) [1] is a professional ballroom dancer based in New York City. He is perhaps best known as the 2007 U.S. National Dancesport Champions (Professional Rhythm) with his partner, Joanna Zacharewicz. [2]

Decamps began his competition dance career in 1991 as both a Latin and ballroom dancer, competing with Jami Josephson. The two won numerous titles, including 2nd place in the U.S. Professional Open Rhythm Championship in 1997, the Heritage Classic Championships in 1996, and 1st in the Sabado Gigante Contest in 1998. [3] The pair also produced their own series of salsa instructional videos for the company Dancevision.

Decamps was featured as the principal dancer in the video for Debelah Morgan's 2000 single "Dance with Me".

Decamps briefly paired with Viktoriya Drubetskaya in 1999, competing in the International Latin division, [4] before partnering with Cheryl Burke in 2002. [5] The two won the Professional Rising Star category in International Latin at the Ohio Star Ball in 2005.

Decamps and Zacharewicz forged their partnership in March 2007. [6] As a team they won the U.S. National Dancesport Champions (Professional Rhythm) title in the years 2007, 2008,2009 and 2010[3]. In addition they won: the 2007 World Professional Mambo Championship, World professional 2010 Salsa championships, 2007, 2008 and 2009 World Professional Rhythm Championship and World Professional Rhythm Showdance categories. Most recently (2011) Jose and Joanna won the Sabado Gigante "Asi se Baila", where they competed against couples from all over the world for a 10,000 dollar prize.

Jose and Joanna are now married and work and live in New York City.

Kym Herjavec Australian ballroom dancer and TV performer

Kym Herjavec is an Australian professional ballroom dancer and television performer who appeared in the first three seasons of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer, before moving to the U.S. version of the franchise from 2006 to 2015. Johnson returned as a professional to the U.S. series in 2017 for its 24th season. She also served as a judge on the Australian version of the show from 2013 to 2015. She is married to Robert Herjavec.

Karina Smirnoff is a Soviet-born American professional ballroom dancer of Ukrainian origins. She is known as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, where she won the thirteenth season with army veteran and soap opera star J. R. Martinez. She has also won two runner-up titles, a semifinal title, and several quarterfinal titles.

Oxford University Dancesport Club (OUDC) is Oxford University's largest sports club and is the second largest club at the university after the Oxford Union. Michael Malitowski

Michael Malitowski is a ballroom dancer, a former World Latin Dance Champion with his partner Joanna Leunis. Michael was born 28 May 1980, in Zielona Góra, Poland. His partnership with Leunis has, since 2002, resulted in a string of victories: in 2008 and 2009 they won the World Professional Latin title, and in 2012 they won first place in Latin dance at the Blackpool Dance Festival. This is the prestigious Open British Championships held every year in Blackpool, England. Before that, he won the Polish Latin dance championship four times with Iwona Golczak.

Joanna Leunis, is a professional Latin ballroom dancer. With Michael Malitowski, she is a former professional World Latin Dance Champion and the current International Latin American Dance Champion. The couple represented Poland until 2011, choosing to represent England until their retirement in 2015.

British Sequence Championships Ballroom dancing championships held in England

The British Sequence Championships are ballroom dancing championships for adults and children held annually in Blackpool, England.

Alejandro Lazo is a Cuban-American professional dancer, instructor, and choreographer based in Palm Beach, Florida. Lazo was the US International Rising Star Latin Champion in 1990 and went on through over twenty years of successful DanceSport competition. This cumulated in 1999 when he became the U.S. Nine-Dance Champion. He has appeared numerous times in television and theater in various capacities, and has also transitioned into the world of broadcast media as a spokesperson, guest host, and artist. He hosted several national PBS specials including "WXEL Presents", "Tango: The Spirit of Argentina", and "Fiesta at the Philharmonic".

Cambridge Dancers Club Football club

Cambridge Dancers' Club (CDC) first opened its doors in October 1950 as a student society in the University of Cambridge to promote Ballroom and Latin dancing. It has since broadened the styles taught by their professional teachers to include Salsa and Rock 'n' Roll classes, as well as opening to all adult Cambridge residents. The club runs classes five nights a week during Full Term, including classes open to people with no previous dance experience. Classes also run outside Full Term. Having once had an annual membership of over 2000, the club now has a membership that is still well over 1000 members, making it purportedly one of the largest Ballroom and Latin Dancing Clubs in Europe.
