Joseph Fagnano is an American college football quarterback for the UConn Huskies. He previously played for the Maine Black Bears.
Fagnano grew up in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and attended Williamsport Area High School. During high school, he was named an All-State player, the Wyoming Area Offensive Player of the Year and an East-West All-Star Game participant. He committed to play college football at Maine over an offer from Bucknell. [1] [2]
Fagnano arrived at UMaine as a walk-on, but earned a full scholarship and the backup quarterback job after an impressive fall training camp. [3] Fagnano made his collegiate debut on October 12, after incumbent quarterback Chris Ferguson sustained a foot injury during the first quarter of a 24-17 loss to Richmond. The following week, Fagnano was named the starter. Against FBS opponent Liberty, he threw five touchdowns, completing 67% of his passes for 445 yards. [4] He played in eight games and started in six finishing the season with completing 121 out of 184 passing attempts with 1,835 yards and 17 touchdowns. [5] By the end of the season, he was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for two weeks, the New England Football Writers Gold Helmet Award Winner [6] and the team's Thurlow Cooper Offensive Rookie of the Year. [7] [8] During the spring 2021 season, he appeared in all four games and finished the season with completing 67 out of 116 passing attempts with 795 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception. By the end of the season, he was named the CAA Player of the Week for two weeks. [9] [10] During the fall 2021 season, he appeared in four games and finished the season with 65 completed passing attempts with 794 yards and six touchdowns. By the end of the season, he was named to the 2021 CFPA FCS National Player of the Year Trophy Watch List. [11] During the 2022 season, he played in all 11 games and finished the season with a career high 208 completed passing attempts for 2,231 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. [12] On December 5, 2022, Fagnano announced that he would be entering the transfer portal. [13] On January 16, 2023, he announced that he would be transferring to UConn. [14]
During the 2023 season, Fagnano was named as the starting quarterback. [15] On September 12, 2023, after only two games, head coach Jim L. Mora announced that Fagnano would be out for the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury. [16] He finished the season with completing 18 out of 35 passing attempts for 173 yards and one interception. [12]

Rob Ambrose is an American college football coach. From 2009 to 2022, he was head coach of the Towson Tigers football team of Towson University. Ambrose was formerly the offensive coordinator of the UConn Huskies before being announced as Towson's head coach in December 2008. Ambrose played wide receiver for Towson in the early 1990s. Ambrose was selected as the Top FCS Coach for the 2011 season. In 2013, Towson advanced to the FCS National Championship Game for the first time in school history. Ambrose played his high school ball at Maryland's Middletown High School.

The team finished with a record of 8–5, 3–4 in Big East play and won the PapaJohns.com Bowl 20–7 against South Carolina.
The Towson Tigers football team represents Towson University in the sport of American football. The Tigers compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as a member of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). The Tigers are currently coached by Pete Shinnick. The 2010 Connecticut Huskies football team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season as a member of the Big East Conference. The team was coached by Randy Edsall and played its home games at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut. The Huskies finished 8–5, 5–2 in Big East play to share the conference title with Pittsburgh and West Virginia. Due to victories over both schools, the Huskies earned the Big East's automatic bid to a BCS game, and were invited to the Fiesta Bowl where they were defeated by Big 12 champion Oklahoma 48–20. It was the first major-bowl appearance in the program's 115-year history.

Jake Eaton an American former professional football quarterback. He is currently a high school athletic director in Proctor, Vermont. He played in the af2 with the Cape Fear Wildcats in 2004 and the Manchester Wolves in 2005. He went on to the Arena Football League in 2006 and played for the Orlando Predators before retiring in 2009. Eaton was inducted into the University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
Bailey Michael Zappe is an American professional football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played his first three seasons of college football for the Houston Baptist Huskies and used his last year of eligibility with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, where he set the FBS season records for passing yards and passing touchdowns. Zappe was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft and mostly served as backup until becoming their primary starter near the end of the 2023 season.
The 1961 Maine Black Bears football team was an American football team that represented the University of Maine as a member of the Yankee Conference during the 1961 college football season. In its 11th season under head coach Harold Westerman, the Black Bears compiled an 8–0–1 record and won the Yankee Conference championship. They also compiled a 2–0–1 record in Maine State Series competition to win the Lewis O. Barrows Trophy.
