Josh Thompson (born 8 December 2000) is an Fijian rugby union player, who plays for the Force. His preferred position is lock or flanker. [1]

Early career

Thompson is from Suva and originally moved to Australia to play rugby league, originally for the Newcastle Knights academy. [2] before joining the Canberra Raiders. [3] He converted to rugby union in 2022 and played club rugby for both Western Sydney Two Blues and West Harbour RFC. [4] He is the cousin of Jarryd Hayne.

Professional career

Thompson signed for the Western Force in August 2024, [5] before in November 2024 being named in the squad for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season. [6] He made his debut for the Force in Round 4 of the season, coming on as a replacement against the Waratahs. [7]
