Josh Toy (born 18 April 1992) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was one of Gold Coast's underage recruits, and played in their first season. Toy was a part of Gold Coast's inaugural team in round 2, against Carlton, where he was utilized as a substitute player. During his time with the Suns, Toy was diagnosed with a heart condition (congenital heart block) which affected his endurance and aerobic capacity, without being a threat to his overall health. [1]
During the 2012 Trade Period, Toy requested for a trade back to his home state of Victoria. [2] After failing to arrange a trade deal, Toy was delisted by the Suns late in October 2012. Despite training with Richmond and being interviewed by several other Victorian clubs, Toy was not drafted in either the pre-season or rookie drafts.

Gary Ablett Jr. is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL). The eldest son of Australian Football Hall of Fame member and former Hawthorn and Geelong player Gary Ablett Sr., Ablett was drafted to Geelong under the father–son rule in the 2001 national draft and has since become recognised as one of the all-time great midfielders. Ablett is a dual premiership player, dual Brownlow Medallist, five-time Leigh Matthews Trophy winner, three-time AFLCA champion player of the year award winner and eight-time All-Australian.
Andrew Raines is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club, Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the son of Geoff Raines, a premiership centreman who played for Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon and Brisbane Bears.

Growing up in Midvale, Naitanui attended Governor Stirling Senior High School, and played football for the Midvale Junior Football Club. David Swallow is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL). Swallow won the Gold Coast Suns Club Champion award in 2014, becoming the second player to win the award after Gary Ablett Jr. won the award in the club's first three seasons. He received a nomination for the 2011 AFL Rising Star award in round 14 of the 2011 season. Swallow has served as Gold Coast co-captain since the 2019 season.
