José María Gamazo y Manglano, also known as José María Gamazo (27 December 1929 – 10 September 2015) was a Spanish politician who was one of the ministers during the reign of Francisco Franco.

Francisco Franco Spanish general and dictator

Francisco Franco Bahamonde was a Spanish general and politician who ruled over Spain as a military dictator from 1939, after the nationalist victory in the Spanish Civil War, until his death in 1975. This period in Spanish history is commonly known as Francoist Spain.

He previously belonged to the Senior Civil State Administrators, and a former member of the Technical Corps of the State Civil Administration. In 1964 he was appointed Director General of Services of the prime minister, dispatched daily with Luis Carrero Blanco. When the then admiral Luis was appointed President, he elected José to replace him as Deputy Minister of the Presidency. As by the utmost confidence and proximity of Carrero, he ceased his actions on 3 January 1974. Later on, he was the alcalde of Almadén and Arrayanes Mines for several years before his death on 10 September 2015 in Madrid. [1]

Alcalde, or Alcalde ordinario, is the traditional Spanish municipal magistrate, who had both judicial and administrative functions. An alcalde was, in the absence of a corregidor, the presiding officer of the Castilian cabildo and judge of first instance of a town. Alcaldes were elected annually, without the right to reelection for two or three years, by the regidores of the municipal council. The office of the alcalde was signified by a staff of office, which they were to take with them when doing their business. A woman who holds the office is termed an Alcaldesa.

Almadén is a town and municipality in the Spanish province of Ciudad Real, within the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. The town is located at 4° 49' W and 38° 46' N and is 589 meters above sea level. Almadén is approximately 300 km south of Madrid in the Sierra Morena. The name Almadén is from the Arabic word المعدن al-maʻdin, meaning 'the mine'.

Jean-Pierre Cherid was a far right French activist and later mercenary of Moroccan descent. A former French paratrooper, he first became a member of the Organisation armée secrète (OAS) during the Algerian War (1954–1962).

Marcelino Valentín Gamazo (1879–1936) was a Spanish lawyer, Secretary of the Bar Association of Madrid on three occasions, Dean of the lawyers of the State and the 65th Attorney General of Spain. He was born in Rubielos Altos on August 14, 1879 and died in El Cerrajón on August 6, 1936. He tried unsuccessfully to condemn the socialist leader, Francisco Largo Caballero, as head of the 1934 Revolution. He was murdered at the beginning of the Civil War.

José María Luis Mora Mexican politician and historian of the XIX century

José María Luis Mora Lamadrid was a priest, lawyer, historian, politician and liberal ideologue. The rank of captain general of the Navy is equivalent to an admiral of the fleet in many nations such as the United Kingdom or the United States, a captain general of the Spanish Army (Ejército de Tierra Español) or an Air captain general in the Spanish Air Force (Ejército del Aire).
