Juan Pujol Garcia, also known as Joan Pujol Garcia, was a Spanish spy who acted as a double agent loyal to Great Britain against Nazi Germany during World War II, when he relocated to Britain to carry out fictitious spying activities for the Germans. He was given the codename Garbo by the British; their German counterparts codenamed him Alaric and referred to his non-existent spy network as "Arabal".
The Vuelta a España is an annual multi-stage bicycle race primarily held in Spain, while also occasionally making passes through nearby countries. The peloton expanded from a primarily Spanish participation to include riders from all over the world. The Vuelta is a UCI World Tour event, which means that the teams that compete in the race are mostly UCI WorldTeams, with the exception of the wild card teams that the organizers can invite.

Juan Miguel Mercado Martínez is a Spanish professional road bicycle racer who turned professional with Vitalicio Seguros in 1998. At the Tour de France, Mercado won Stage 18 at the 2004 Tour and captured a surprise win on Stage 10 of the 2006 Tour de France in an early breakaway with Cyril Dessel.
Christopher Clive Froome [kɹɪs fɹuːm], is a British road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Israel–Premier Tech. He has won seven Grand Tours: four editions of the Tour de France, one Giro d'Italia (2018) and the Vuelta a España twice. He has also won several other stage races, and the Velo d'Or three times. Froome has also won two Olympic bronze medals in road time trials, in 2012 and 2016, and took bronze in the 2017 World Championships.
Ineos Grenadiers is a British professional cycling team that competes at the UCI WorldTeam level. The team is based at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester, England, with a logistics base in Deinze, Belgium. The team is managed by British Cycling's former performance director, Sir Dave Brailsford. The company Tour Racing Ltd. is the corporate entity behind the team in all its iterations, which in line with cycling practice adopts the name of their current primary sponsor.
Sam Bennett is an Irish professional cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe. A road sprinter, he turned professional in 2011, and has won eight Grand Tour stages: three stages for Bora–Hansgrohe in the 2018 Giro d'Italia, two stages for Bora–Hansgrohe at the 2019 Vuelta a España, two stages for Deceuninck–Quick-Step at the 2020 Tour de France, where he also won the Points classification, and one stage for Deceuninck–Quick-Step at the 2020 Vuelta a España.
Peter Sagan is a Slovak professional road bicycle racer who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Team TotalEnergies. Sagan had a successful junior cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing career, winning the junior cross-country race at the 2008 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships, before moving to road racing.

Fernando Gaviria Rendón is a Colombian professional road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates. He is well known as a sprinter. Riding for the Colombian national cycling team, Gaviria came to international attention at the 2015 Tour de San Luis, where he beat former world champion Mark Cavendish in two sprint finishes. His first major Grand Tour wins came at the 2017 Giro d'Italia. He is the brother of track cyclist Juliana Gaviria. His nickname is "Quetzal splendente", from the brightful and colourful South American bird Quetzal. Its colours recall his world championship titles, his Colombia and "la maglia Ciclamino" won at Giro d'Italia.
Felix Großschartner is an Austrian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe.
Rémi Cavagna is a French cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team.
Richard Antonio Carapaz Montenegro is an Ecuadorian professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers. Carapaz won the 2019 Giro d'Italia, becoming the first Ecuadorian rider to win the race. In July 2021, he won the gold medal in the road race at the 2020 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Ecuadorian cyclist to win a medal and only the second Ecuadorian to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. In doing so, he became the first cyclist to achieve an Olympic road race gold medal and a podium finish in each of the three Grand Tours.
Tadej Pogačar is a Slovenian cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates. He won the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Tour de France, winning three different jerseys during each Tour, something unseen in nearly four decades.
