The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. For sponsorship reasons the league is known as the Vodacom United Rugby Championship in South Africa, and the BKT United Rugby Championship in the competition's other territories, the split branding mirroring the format previously adopted in Super Rugby. The Championship represents the highest level of domestic club or franchise rugby in each of its constituent countries.

Nicknamed “Thor”, he is known for his physical strength, anticipation under the high ball and leadership abilities. He is widely regarded as one of the best Number Eights in South African Rugby history.
Robbie Diack is a South African born, Irish former rugby union player who last played for Ulster in the Pro14. He played in the back row mainly as a number eight.
Louis Ludik is a South African rugby union player who played for Ulster Rugby at full-back. Ludik played over 70 times in Super Rugby before moving to Agen in France in 2013. After one season with the French club he signed a 2-year deal with Ulster in May 2014.
