Judo was first included in the Summer Olympic Games at the 1964 Games in Tokyo, Japan. After not being included in 1968, judo has been an Olympic sport in each Olympiad since then. Only male judoka participated until the 1988 Summer Olympics, when women's judo was organized as a demonstration sport. Women judoka were first awarded medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Japan participated in the 2006 Asian Games held in Doha, Qatar from December 1, 2006 to December 15, 2006.
Garima Chaudhary is an Indian judoka. She was India's sole judoka at the 2012 London Olympics, competing in the Women's (63 kg) category.

Maya Goshen is an Israeli judoka who competes for the Israel national judo team. She won a silver medal at the 2020 European U23 championship and a bronze at the mixed team event of the 2022 World Championships. Goshen represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in judo in the women's 70 kg, and in the mixed team event, at which Team Israel came in ninth.
Shokhista Nazarova is an Uzbekistani judoka. She won a bronze medal at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey. She also won a bronze medals at the 2022 Asian Judo Championships held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan and at the 2024 Asian Judo Championships held in Hong Kong, China.
