Julie Derron (born 10 September 1996) is a Swiss triathlete. She was a silver medalist at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

She won the 2021 European Triathlon Championships. She was a bronze medalist in the mixed relay at the 2022 European Triathlon Championships, and a silver medalist in 2024 and a bronze medalist in 2023 at the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships.

Career

She won the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon in 2017. [1] She won the Europe Triathlon Sprint Championships in 2019 in Kazan. [2]

She won the 2021 European Triathlon Championships in Valencia, Spain. [3] She won a bronze medal in the mixed relay at the 2022 European Triathlon Championships in Munich, Germany. [4]

In 2023, she was a bronze medalist at the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships in the mixed relay in Hamburg. [5]

In 2024, she won victory at the Chengdu World Cup. [6] In June 2024, she improved the course record at the Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl. [7] In July 2024, she was a silver medalist at the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships. [8]

Competing at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she won the silver medal in the women's triathlon on 31 July 2024. [9] [10] Derron was one of the flag-bearers for Switzerland at the closing ceremony alongside swimmer Roman Mityukov. [11]

Personal life

From Zurich, her grandfather was a Swiss champion swimmer. Her sisters Nina and Michelle also compete in triathlon. [12]

The Triathlon EDF Alpe d'Huez, named after its sponsor Électricité de France (EDF), was established in 2006 by World Triathlon Champion Cyrille Neveu. It is not sanctioned by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) or Fédération Française de Triathlon (FFTRI). The long course event comprises a 2.2 km swim, a 115 km cycle and a 22 km run. It starts with the swim at the reservoir Lac du Verney then the cycling features the 21 bends used by the Tour de France as it climbs 1120 m to the ski resort of Alpe d'Huez for the run.

Non Rhiannydd Stanford is a British former professional triathlete, representing Great Britain and Wales at international level. Stanford was the ITU World Champion in 2013, part of the Great Britain world champion mixed relay team in 2012 and represented Team GB at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where she finished fourth behind teammate and housemate Vicky Holland. Hindered thereafter by recurrent injuries, she struggled to repeat the dominant form of her early years. In her final year of competition, 2022, however she found an exceptional final flourish of form; she anchored Wales to silver in the team event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, her first Commonwealth medal and her first major championship medal since 2015 World Triathlon mixed relay bronze. Jessica Learmonth is a British triathlete. Learmonth is a European, Commonwealth, Olympic and World Triathlon Series medal winner based in Leeds, England where she trains at the Leeds Triathlon Centre. She won the European Triathlon Championship in 2017 and took silver in 2018. She competed in the women's event and the mixed relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning silver medals in both disciplines. Learmonth won silver in the 2019 World Triathlon Series.
