Julie Lillie is an American government official who served as the acting Deputy Secretary of the Interior from January to August 2017. [1] She concurrently served as the director of executive secretariat and regulatory affairs.[ citation needed ]
The Cabinet of the United States is the principal official advisory body to the president of the United States. The Cabinet generally meets with the president in a room adjacent to the Oval Office in the West Wing of the White House. The president chairs the meetings but is not formally a member of the Cabinet. The vice president of the United States serves in the Cabinet by statute. The secretary and the Department of the Interior are responsible for the management and conservation of most federal land along with natural resources,leading such agencies as the Bureau of Land Management,the United States Geological Survey,Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Park Service. The secretary is a member of the United States Cabinet and reports to the president of the United States.
