Julio "Koko" Sosa is a master guitarist and composer from Ucacha (Cordoba Province), Argentina. His performances and compositions range from Argentine styles (such as Tango, Milonga, Chamame, Zamba, Tonada, and Aires Criollos) to Latin Jazz, Flamenco and Brazilian styles (such as Samba and Bossa Nova).
Sosa performed throughout Latin America and the United States, including performances at the White House and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., [1] and was for many years an instructor at the Guitar Gallery in Washington, D.C. [2] Hailing from Argentina, he was known in South America as "Koko Sosa" (not to be mistaken for producer and actor Manueal "Coco" Sosa). He specialized in Argentine idioms like the Tango, Milonga, Chamame, Zamba, Tonada, and Aires Criollos. Among well-known figures he worked with in South America were the legendary Argentinian singer-songwriter Mercedes Sosa (not a relation). He died in Washington D.C. in 2014.

Bajofondo is a Río de la Plata-based music band consisting of eight musicians from Argentina and Uruguay, which aims to create a more contemporary version of tango and other musical styles of the Río de la Plata region. It was founded in the early 2000s as a studio experiment, which culminated into the successful album Bajofondo Tango Club. This led to touring and eventually to the current lineup. Bajofondo calls itself a collaborative as all members have solo careers as well. The group has toured around the world, particularly in Latin America, the United States, Europe and parts of Asia. Their music is known to a wider audience than those who know their name as their music has been used in film and television.

Azucena Maizani was an Argentine tango singer, composer and actress who was born in Buenos Aires on November 17, 1902 and died in the same city on January 15, 1970. She was discovered in 1920 by Francisco Canaro and quickly emerged as a major star. Her frequent appearances on stage and radio made her the female counterpart of Carlos Gardel although she did not enjoy as successful a film career as he did, appearing in a handful of films including Buenos Aires Sings (1947). During many years she gave performances dressed with men's suits or criollo cowboy attire for which she was known by the nickname "Funny-face Cowgirl", given to her by Libertad Lamarque in 1935.
