Julkku is a Finnish Walpurgis Night humour magazine published on even years by the students of Aalto University. [1] First Julkku was published in 1978. Julkku features short jokes, satirical writings and humorous ads, pictures and drawings.

Humor magazines are an important part of Finnish Walpurgis Night, and students in overalls selling them are a common sight in university cities in Finland in late April.

Saint Walpurga

Saint Walpurga or Walburga, also spelled Valderburg or Guibor, was an Anglo-Saxon missionary to the Frankish Empire. She was canonized on 1 May c. 870 by Pope Adrian II. Saint Walpurgis Night is the name for the eve of her feast day in the Medieval period, which coincided with May Day; her feast is no longer celebrated on that day, but the name is still used for May Eve.

Sima (mead) Finnish fermented low level alcoholic drink and soft drink

Sima is a Finnish fermented low level alcoholic drink and soft drink. It is traditionally a form of mead, an alcoholic beverage produced by fermenting a solution of honey and water, although nowadays the honey is usually replaced with different kinds of sugar, mostly syrup, which makes it a sugar wine. The drink also has a very low alcohol content due to limited fermentation. Sima is therefore a sweet sparkling beverage that is mainly seasonal and connected with the Finnish Vappu festival. It is usually spiced by adding both the flesh and rind of a lemon.

Ylioppilaslehti is a Finnish student newspaper founded in 1913. The magazine is published by a private company Ylioppilaslehden kustannus Oy that is owned by the Student Union of the University of Helsinki. It is the largest student paper or magazine in Finland with a circulation of 35,000 copies. In addition to affairs related to university studies, it covers areas such as culture and social issues.

Posankka is a statue located in Turku, Finland. The statue, which is located near the campus area of the University of Turku and the Turku Student Village, represents a hybrid between a marzipan pig ("possu") and a rubber duck ("ankka"). The Cortège, or The Chalmers Cortège is an annual carnival parade held on Walpurgis Night by students of the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. The Cortège consists of around 1000 students and around 50 truck carriages, each carriage depicting—in a satirical and comic way—significant events that have taken place since the previous parade. The procession makes its way through the city centre, where it is seen by around 250,000 people each year.

<i>La Noche de Walpurgis</i> 1971 Spanish film

La Noche de Walpurgis, is a 1971 Spanish horror film starring Paul Naschy, the fifth in a series about the werewolf Waldemar Daninsky. This film was directed by León Klimovsky and written by Naschy, and is generally regarded to have kickstarted the Spanish horror film boom of the Seventies, due to its awesome box office success upon its release. The German distributors added the name Hans Munkel to the screenwriting credit in some versions to satisfy the terms of international co-production. Patty Shepard was so convincing as the vampiric Countess, it was thought at the time that she might replace actress Barbara Steele as Europe's reigning horror queen.

The Uppsala River Rafting Event

The River Rafting is an annual event organized by the Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students, UTN. The Rafting takes place on the Fyris River on the last day of April as it has done since the first organized version of the event in 1975. The main rafting event is preceded by the weeklong “River Festival”.

Walpurgis Night is the fourth studio album by South Korean girl group GFriend. It was released on November 9, 2020, by Source Music and distributed by kakao M. The album contains 11 songs including the lead single "Mago". It would become their final release before the departure of all the group members from Source Music following the expiration of their contracts.
