Biography

Justin Morales was born on February 7, 2004, in the La Gunilla barrio of Cuernavaca, Morelos. [1] [3] From an early age, he developed a passion for music, particularly corridos, which he learned to play on his grandfather's guitar. [1] He began performing traditional Mexican songs at family gatherings and with friends, eventually creating his own compositions. Growing up in Cuernavaca, one of Mexico's most violent cities, Morales' music reflects 21st century urban concerns while remaining deeply rooted in Mexican musical tradition. [1] The success of "Desde Morro" attracted the attention of Jimmy Humilde, CEO of Rancho Humilde, who was impressed by Morales' "gritty, poetic lyrics, emotionally resonant voice, and trancey guitar playing." In early 2021, Humilde signed Morales to Rancho Humilde, making him part of the label's "corridos tumbados" (trap corridos) movement. Following his breakout success, Morales collaborated with fellow Rancho Humilde artist Dan Sanchez on "Carencias de la Infancia" in January 2021.
