Jwan Yosef (born 6 September 1984) is a Swedish-Syrian painter and artist. He specializes in plastic arts and is based in London, England. [2] [3]
Yosef was born in Syria, [4] to a Kurdish father and an Armenian mother. [5] His family emigrated to Sweden when he was two years old, [6] and later he studied painting in Pernby School of Painting in Stockholm between 2004 and 2006, then moved to Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm. [7]
Yosef has taken part in a great number of art fairs and group exhibitions. He held two solo exhibitions in 2013 titled Painting about Sex, Flesh and Violence, lol at the DIVUS Gallery in London and High Notes, at the Galleri Anna Thulin, Stockholm. [8] [9] He participated in the Threadneedle Prize exhibition in 2013 and the BEERS Contemporary Award for Emerging Art both in 2013. In 2015, he exhibited at Galleri Bon with group exhibition There and Back Again with fellow Konstfack graduates Josef Bull, Petr Davydtchenko and Natasja Loutchko. [10] He is a founding member and studio holder at The Bomb Factory Art Foundation in Archway, North London. [11]
In April 2016, during the amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research gala in São Paulo, Brazil, Yosef publicly announced that he had been in a relationship with Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin. The couple married in 2017. [12] [13] On 31 December 2018, Martin and Yosef announced, via Instagram, the birth of their daughter, Lucia Martin-Yosef. [14] On 29 October 2019, Martin and Yosef announced the birth of their son, Renn Martin-Yosef. [15] [16] In July 2023, it was announced that Martin and Yosef had separated after six years of marriage. [17]

Puerto Rican recording artist Ricky Martin has released ten studio albums, seven compilation albums, two live albums, one soundtrack album and four box sets. Martin has sold over 70 million records, making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time. His self-titled debut studio album was released in November 1991 by Sony Discos. Two years later, Columbia Records released Martin's second studio album, Me Amaras. Despite both albums failing to achieve a significant commercial success, they pushed Martin towards superstar status in many Latin American countries. His third studio album, A Medio Vivir, was released in September 1995 by Sony Latin. The album features a "harder rock edge style" than his previous efforts, while being mixed with Latin references such as flamenco and cumbia. A Medio Vivir charted in several countries and peaked at number seven in Spain and number 11 on the US Latin Albums chart.
Karin Signhild Hermansson, better known as Kakan Hermansson, is a Swedish television presenter, radio host, comedian and artist. She has had her own television show on Sveriges Television (SVT) called Kaka på Kaka and has worked on shows for both Sveriges Radio and TV4. Anna Carolina Odell is a Swedish artist and film director. She won two Guldbaggen Award for in 2014 for her film The Reunion in the categories Best Film and Best Screenplay. In 2009, her film Okänd, kvinna 2009-349701 received a lot of attention as it includes a faked suicide attempt on Liljeholmsbron in Stockholm. Both films have been nominated and presented at the Venice Biennale Film Festival. She is one of the groundbreaking artists in the emerging psycho-social art scene.
Edit Gunilla Margareta Lagerbielke (1926–2013) was a Swedish textile artist who exerted considerable influence on arts and crafts in Sweden as a result of her heading Konstfack and chairing the Swedish Arts Grants Committee. She is also remembered for the textile works she created with her husband Lars Johanson which were exhibited in Gothenburg in 1970.
