The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R.) at Madurai on 17 October 1972 as a breakaway faction from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam after M. Karunanidhi expelled him from the party for demanding an account as the party treasurer. The party is adhering to the policy of socialism and secularism based on the principles of C. N. Annadurai (Anna) collectively coined as Annaism by M.G.R. The party has won a seven-time majority in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and has emerged as the most successful political outfit in the state's history. It is currently the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
Gobichettipalayam is a town and municipality in Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of Gobichettipalayam taluk. It is situated at the center of the South Indian Peninsula at 213 metres (699 ft) above sea level,surrounded by Western Ghats. The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Vijayakant (Captain) at Madurai on 14 September 2005. The party was led by its founder until 14 December 2023 from its date of founding. From 14 December 2023,the DMDK is led by Vijayakant's wife Premallatha Vijayakant as general secretary of the party. The party served as the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 27 May 2011 to 21 February 2016. The headquarters of the party is located at Jawaharlal Nehru Salai,Koyambedu,Chennai.
K C Palanisamy is an Indian politician,former Member of Parliament (MP) and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Tamil Nadu (TN). A former member of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK),he served the Dravidian party founded by former Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu,M G Ramachandran (MGR) on 17 October 1972. He was born and raised in Chennimalai,Erode District of Tamil Nadu. At the age of 9,K C Palanisamy met MGR and got influenced by the mission and vision of AIADMK. His political career began aged 13. In 1972,he joined AIADMK as a party member. K C Palanisamy was handpicked by former CM of Tamil Nadu,MGR as Deputy District Secretary of AIADMK’s Youth Wing in 1982,at the age of 23. In 1984,he was elected as the party’s youngest Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kangeyam constituency in Thiruppur District. In 1989,K C Palanisamy chosen to contest in Assembly election as Member of Parliament (MP) by Jayalalitha and won with the second highest vote difference Nationally and highest difference in the State.
Munisamy Thambidurai is an Indian politician who served as the Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha and leader of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the Lok Sabha,the lower house of the Indian Parliament. He had served as the Cabinet Minister of Law,Justice and Company Affairs and as the Minister of State of Surface Transport from March 1998 to April 1999. He had also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 1985 to 1989.

P. K. Sekar Babu is an Indian politician and Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. Currently,he is elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Harbour as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in 2016 and 2021 elections. He won his first two elections from R k Nagar constituency as an AIADMK candidate.

The Fifteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 16 May 2016 for the 232 seats of the Legislative Assembly in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The AIADMK under J. Jayalalithaa won the elections and became the first ruling party to be re-elected in Tamil Nadu since 1984,though with a simple majority. The DMK won half of the seats it contested but its allies performed poorly;notably,the Indian National Congress won 16% of the seats they contested,and the alliance lost due to its poor performance. The votes were counted on 19 May 2016. In the previous election in 2011,AIADMK,under the leadership of Jayalalithaa,won a thumping majority and formed the government,while DMDK chief Vijayakanth served as the Leader of Opposition until January 2016. This was the last election that J. Jayalalithaa and M. Karunanidhi contested,as they both died later that year and 2018 respectively.
The 2019 elections for Tamil Nadu's 39 seats in the 17th Lok Sabha were held on 18 April,in the second phase of the 2019 Indian general elections. The alliance led by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam,won a landslide victory,taking 38 of the 39 seats.

The Sixteenth Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election was held on 6 April 2021,to elect representatives from the 234 constituencies in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election,ending the decade-long reign of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The DMK's leader M. K. Stalin became the eighth Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,and the 12th Chief Minister since the 1956 reorganization. He replaced Edappadi K. Palaniswami of the AIADMK.
V. P. Sivasubramani is an Indian politician who was a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He represented Modakuruchi Constituency,Erode district between the years 2016 and 2021. He was also the District General Secretary of AIADMK and Joint Secretary of all World MGR Forum.
