Krishnaveni is a 1974 Indian Telugu-language film directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao, starring Krishnam Raju and Vanisri, under the banner of Gopikrishna Movies. The film met with strong critical reception and commercial success upon release. The movie was about a lady suffering from hysteria and the emotional trauma of her family. The film is a remake of the Kannada hit film Sharapanjara (1971).

Eedara Veera Venkata Satyanarayana was an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer. He directed a total of 51 films in Telugu films and introduced many actors to Telugu cinema. He was well known for making comedy and melodrama films. In 2000, he established his own production company, E. V. V. Cinema. He died in 2011.

The movie is also inspired by Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani's novel of the same name. This is the remake of 1972 Bengali film Jiban Saikate.
