The Indian National Congress (INC),colloquially the Congress Party but often simply the Congress,is a political party in India with widespread roots. Founded in 1885,it was the first modern nationalist movement to emerge in the British Empire in Asia and Africa. Paramasiva Subbarayan was an Indian politician,freedom fighter and diplomat and was the Chief Minister of Madras Presidency,India's ambassador to Indonesia and Union Minister of Transport and Communications in Jawaharlal Nehru's government. He was the father of General P. P. Kumaramangalam who served as India's Chief of Army staff and politician Mohan Kumaramangalam. He was also the grandfather of INC and BJP politician and Union Minister Rangarajan Kumaramangalam.
Erode Venkata Krishnasamy Sampath Elangovan is an Indian politician who was a member of the Lok Sabha. He represented the Gobichettipalayam constituency of Tamil Nadu and is a member of the Indian National Congress party. He is the son of E. V. K. Sampath and grandson of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy's brother Krishnasamy. In 2009 Lok Sabha election,he lost to A. Ganeshamurthi of the MDMK by 49,336 votes in Erode constituency. Elangovan was the only candidate of the UPA to lose in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu.He also elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly in Tamilnadu from Sathyamangalam constituency in 1985.

Jayanthi Natarajan is an Indian lawyer and politician. She was a member of the Indian National Congress and has been thrice elected Member of Parliament representing the state of Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha. From July 2011 to December 2013,she was the Minister of Forests and Environment. She resigned as Minister of Environment and Forest on 21 December 2013. On 30 January 2015,she announced in a press conference at Chennai that she would be resigning from the Congress party alleging that "specific requests" by Rahul Gandhi were the basis of whether industrial projects were given clearances by her ministry,and that he shifted from a pro-environmental position to corporate-friendly stand for the elections in 2014.
Subburaman Thirunavukkarasar is an Indian politician. He was the State President of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee till 2 February 2019 and former secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) of the Indian National Congress (INC) party. His introduction to politics in 1977 was facilitated by former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,M. G. Ramachandran. Ramachandran founded the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in 1972 and was facing his first elections for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election in 1977. He identified Thirunavukkarasar,a lawyer by profession,to contest the Aranthangi assembly constituency. Thirunavukkarasar won the seat,aged 27,and was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He continued in that capacity till 1980. Subsequently,he served as Tamil Nadu state minister from 1980 to 1987 in the MGR cabinet,holding portfolios that included Industries,Housing Board,Excise and Handlooms. Later,he became a member of the Lok Sabha –the lower house of the Parliament of India –when he won the erstwhile Pudukottai Lok Sabha constituency. He served as Union Minister of state for shipping and later for telecommunications and information technology.
Phanindranath Rangarajan Kumaramangalam was a prominent politician of the Indian National Congress and later the Bharatiya Janata Party and a Member of parliament,Lok Sabha from the Salem constituency from 1984 to 1996 and Tiruchirapalli constituency from 1998 to 2000. He served as the Minister of State for Law,Justice and Company Affairs in the P. V. Narasimha Rao government from July 1991 to December 1993 and as the Union Minister for Power in the Vajpayee Government from 1998 to 2000. He was the grandson of former Chief Minister of Madras,P. Subbarayan and the nephew of former Indian Chief of Army,General P. P. Kumaramangalam.

He was the founder and chairman of Vasanth &Co,one of the largest retail home appliance chains in Tamil Nadu. He was also the founder and managing director of the Tamil satellite TV channel Vasanth TV. He was elected as the member of parliament to the 17th Lok Sabha from Kanyakumari constituency in the 2019 Indian general election. He was also elected as member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Nanguneri constituency in the 2006 and 2016 elections.
