KAM Manufacturing is a handbag manufacturer located in Van Wert, Ohio, USA. Founded in 1988 by Kim Adams, the company has been in business for more than 25 years. [1] The company's factory was destroyed by a tornado in 2002. [2] The company produced handbags for Vera Bradley until ending its relationship with Vera Bradley Designs in 2008, when the company announced it would lay off 140 employees and possibly discontinue operations by the end of the year. [3] The company instead established the Stephanie Dawn brand that year.[ citation needed ] KAM was named small business of the year in Van Wert County in 2006 [4] and was awarded a Blue Ribbon by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. [5]

Retailers carrying Stephanie Dawn include the Artists’ Colony in Northeast Ohio [6] and Kristina's Gifts in Waynesburg, Ohio. [7] as well as Karen's Gifts in New Port Richey, Florida. Stephanie Dawn sponsored "The Art of Fiber" exhibition at the Wassenberg Art Center in January 2011. [8]

Van Wert is a city in and the county seat of Van Wert County, Ohio, United States. Altoids are a brand of mints, sold primarily in distinctive metal tins. The brand was created by the London-based Smith & Company in the 1780s, and became part of the Callard & Bowser company in the 19th century. Their advertising slogan is "The Original Celebrated Curiously Strong Mints", referring to the high concentration of peppermint oil used in the original flavour lozenge. The mints were originally conceived as a lozenge intended to relieve intestinal discomfort.

Block Communications American media holding company

Block Communications Inc. is an American privately held holding company of various assets, mainly in the print and broadcast media, based in Toledo, Ohio. The company was founded in 1900 in New York City when Paul Block, a German-Jewish immigrant who came to the United States fifteen years prior, formed an ad representation firm for newspapers. The Block empire grew to encompass many newspapers on the east coast of the US, however with the Great Depression in the 1930s came the loss of all but three properties: the ad representation firm, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Toledo Blade. After Block's death in 1941, his children took over the company. They eventually passed it on to their grandchildren, who continue to operate it to this day.

The station is currently owned by First Family Broadcasting and broadcasts from its studios on the Lincoln Highway just east of Van Wert.

Libbey, Inc., is a glass production company headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. It was originally founded 204 years ago in Cambridge, Massachusetts as the New England Glass Company in 1818, before relocating to Ohio in 1888 and renaming to Libbey Glass Co. After it was purchased in 1935, it operated as part of the Libbey-Owens-Ford company and as a division of the Owens-Illinois glass company until 1993, when it was separated back into an independent company.

Barbara Bradley Baekgaard is the co-founder, designer, and former Chief Creative Officer of Vera Bradley.

Indiana Glass Company was an American company that manufactured pressed, blown and hand-molded glassware and tableware for almost 100 years. Predecessors to the company began operations in Dunkirk, Indiana, in 1896 and 1904, when East Central Indiana experienced the Indiana gas boom. The company started in 1907, when a group of investors led by Frank W. Merry formed a company to buy the Dunkirk glass plant that belonged to the bankrupt National Glass Company. National Glass was a trust for glass tableware that originally owned 19 glass factories including the plant in Dunkirk. National Glass went bankrupt in 1907, and its assets were sold in late 1908.
