KBD Juniors is an Indian kabaddi competition for school children organised by Star Sports, the broadcast partner for Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). [1] Three annual seasons have been held so far, starting in 2017. [2] [3]

Contents

Format

Teams are drawn from the schools in each of the Indian cities which has a PKL team. [4] Teams aim to be champions within their own city so that they can advance to the national stage of the competition. [5]

Thousands of students participate in each edition. [6]

Rules

Empty raids (raids where no points are scored) are not allowed. [7]

Results

South Point World School from Sonepat defeated Jeppiaar School 34–31 in the final of Season 1. [8]

Sri Adishakti Higher Primary School defeated Delhi Public School 38–18 in the final of Season 2. [9]

Mount Litera Zee School, Patna defeated Mother Khazani Public School, Delhi 42–32 in the final of Season 3. [10]

Bengal Warriors (BEN) is a professional kabaddi team based in Kolkata, West Bengal that plays in the Pro Kabaddi League. In 2019, they won the trophy for the first time by defeating Dabang Delhi. The team is currently led by Maninder Singh and coached by Kasinatha Baskaran. The team play their home matches at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.

Patna Pirates (PTP) is a professional kabaddi team based in Patna, Bihar, that plays in the Pro Kabaddi League. The team is led by Neeraj Kumar and coached by Narender redu. Their home ground is the Patliputra Sports Complex. The Pirates are the most successful team in PKL history with a record of winning 3 out of 8 titles and winning all of them in successive. They are also one time runners up in season 8 of pkl which started after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh also known as Moein Nabibakhsh is an Iranian professional Kabaddi player who currently plays as an all rounder for Punneri Paltan in the Pro Kabaddi League and represents Iran national kabaddi team in the international circuit. He was the part of Iran national kabaddi team that won gold in the 2018 Asian Games.

The 2021–22 Vivo Pro Kabaddi League was the eighth season of Pro Kabaddi League. The season began on 22 December 2021. The usual travelling caravan format was changed to a single venue hosting all the matches of the season. Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bangalore was initially announced as the venue, but was later changed to the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Convention Center located in Whitefield, Bangalore.

Naveen Kumar Goyat is an Indian professional kabaddi player who plays for the Indian national kabaddi team and Dabang Delhi KC in the Pro Kabaddi League. His speedy raiding and consistency makes him one of the best raiders in the league. He was part of the Indian kabaddi team that won the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. India defeated Iran 33-29 in a controversial final.

Parteek Dahiya is an Indian kabaddi player who currently plays for Gujarat Giants in VIVO Pro Kabaddi league. Dahiya was picked up by Gujarat Giants in the Season 9 auction. In VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 9, Dahiya score 183 points and get 6th place in top 10 ten raider of pkl season 9.

Arjun Deshwal is an Indian professional Kabaddi player who plays as a raider in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). He began his professional career playing for U Mumba, then transferred to the Jaipur Pink Panthers, where he helped win the 2022 PKL Season 9. He is considered one of the top raiders in PKL season 9. In 2023, Deshwal competed for India at the 2022 Asian Games; the team won gold, controversially defeating Iran 33–29 in the finals. In domestic tournaments, he represents Services team and Green Army.

Aslam Inamdar is an Indian professional Kabaddi player who plays in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). He began his career playing in the sub-junior nationals in Maharashtra, then joined Puneri Paltan as a raider for the 2022 PKL season. In 2023, he competed for India at the 2022 Asian Games; the team won gold, controversially defeating Iran 33–29 in the finals. Inamdar continues to play for Jai Bajrang, a club that helped him to have stints with Union Bank and Air India.

Sunil Kumar is an Indian professional kabaddi player who plays in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) as a defender. After winning the Junior Nationals in 2015 and 2016, he was picked up by Patna Pirates for the PKL season 4. He later transferred to Jaipur Pink Panthers. In 2023, Kumar competed for India at the 2022 Asian Games; the team won gold, controversially defeating Iran 33–29 in the finals.

Nitin Rawal is an Indian professional kabaddi player who plays in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) as an all rounder. He previously played for the Jaipur Pink Panthers, though transferred to the Haryana Steelers. In 2023, he competed for India at the 2022 Asian Games; the team won gold, controversially defeating Iran 33–29 in the finals.
