KVIK Hockey Arena is a hockey arena in Herning, Denmark. It is used by Herning Blue Fox. The complex consists of two rinks, KVIK Hockey Arena that has a capacity of 4120, where 420 of them are seats, and the new training arena that has a capacity of 200.
It was decided in June 2016 that the 30 year old arena wasn't good enough as a training facility for the 2018 IIHF World Championship which is set in Herning and Copenhagen, Denmark. The arena will be fully rebuilt and renovated for 61 million DKK for the championship.
FC Midtjylland is a Danish professional football club based in Herning and Ikast in the western part of Jutland. The club is the result of a merger between Ikast FS and Herning Fremad. Midtjylland competes in the Danish Superliga, which they have won three times, most recently in 2020.
The MCH Arena is an association football stadium situated in the south of Herning, Denmark, that is part of MCH Messecenter Herning complex and owned by MCH Group A/S. It has been the home ground of FC Midtjylland since March 2004. An integrated part of the arena is a main building housing the club's administration and offices for the official fan club, and includes player and referee facilities, a restaurant, a VIP lounge, press and sky boxes, and a club shop. The total capacity during domestic matches is 11,432 spectators with 7,070 seatings making it the 9th largest football stadium in Denmark. At international FIFA and UEFA matches, the capacity of the four covered single-tiered stands is reduced to 9,430, when the terraces at the north and south stands are converted to an all-seater mode. The stadium's current attendance record of 11,763 spectators dates back to a 2007–08 Danish Superliga match on 11 November 2007, when FC Midtjylland drew 2–2 against FC Copenhagen.
Energi Viborg Arena is a football stadium located in Viborg, Denmark. It is the home ground of Viborg FF and has a capacity of 9,566. The stadium is part of Viborg Stadion Center and is owned by Viborg Municipality. It is the home stadium of the Danish international women’s division. Since October 2011, it has been known as Energi Viborg Arena due to a sponsorship arrangement, giving naming rights to Energi Viborg, a regional energy group. It was one of four venues for the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship, hosting three matches in Group B and a semi-final. The old stadium from 1931 was torn down in 2001 to make room for a new stadium with 9,566 seats. The new stadium came with covered seating and heating in the field. The extensions around the new stadium were finished in 2007 and provided extra standing places for both home and away team fans. In 2008 two big screens were added to the new stadium. Other uses have included hosting concerts with a capacity of 22,000 concertgoers.
The Rødovre Mighty Bulls is a Danish professional ice hockey team based in Rødovre, Denmark, playing in the Metal Ligaen, the top tier of Danish ice hockey. The club was founded in 1961 and play their home games in the Rødovre Skøjte Arena which has a capacity of 3,600 spectators.
The Esbjerg Energy is a Danish professional ice hockey team based in Esbjerg, Denmark, playing in the Metal Ligaen, the top tier of Danish ice hockey. The club was founded in 2005 and play their home games in the Granly Hockey Arena which has a capacity of 4,200 spectators.
Aalborg Pirates is a professional ice hockey team playing in the Danish ice hockey league, Metal Ligaen. The ice hockey team first appeared in 1967 as AaB Ice Hockey organized under Aalborg Boldspilklub. They play in the Danish national league and won the Danish league championship in 1981. In 1997 AaB Ishockey merged with a smaller club, IK Aalborg. The merged team was known as Aalborg Ishockey Klub (AIK) in the period 1997–2003, but following financial instability in the club, the professional license was transferred to Aalborg Boldspilklub ('AaB’). The team is located in Aalborg in the northern part of Jutland and ceased operations at the end of the 2011/12 season, where it was put up for sale. In 2012 the team was bought by investors with the majority of the shares owned by entrepreneur and investor Magnus Kjøller. The team was replaced by a whole new team and organisation launched a "Masterplan 2018”
Herning Blue Fox is a Danish professional ice hockey team based in Herning, Denmark, playing in the Metal Ligaen, the top tier of Danish ice hockey. The club was founded in 1947 and play their home games in the KVIK Hockey Arena which has a capacity of 4,105 spectators.

The MCH Messecenter Herning is an exhibition centre and entertainment complex in Herning, Denmark. The complex is the largest fair and exhibition center in Denmark– beating the Bella Center in Copenhagen. Located on 130 acres (0.53 km2), the complex hosts many events from trade shows, theatrical performances, sporting events, concert tours and other performances. It is one of the main attractions in Herning and draws a crowd of over 900,000 visitors per year.

The 2014 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the 11th edition of the tournament and held in Denmark from 12–26 January. Hungary/Croatia (jointly) were the other applicants for the championship.

The 2018 IIHF World Championship was an international ice hockey tournament hosted by the Danish cities of Copenhagen and Herning, held from 4–20 May 2018. The IIHF announced the winning bid on 23 May 2014 in Minsk, Belarus. South Korea made its debut at the World Championship, having played in the lower divisions previously.

The 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship was an international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) which was contested in Herning and Frederikshavn, Denmark from 25 August to 4 September 2022, at the KVIK Hockey Arena, and Scanel Hockey Arena. Historically, a top division tournament was not played during Olympic years, but in September 2021, the IIHF announced the change to play the tournament each year, even during Olympic years.

The 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship Final was played on 4 September 2022, at KVIK Hockey Arena in Herning, Denmark. Canada defeated the United States 2–1 in to win their 12th title.
