She is known for her roles in films like Gharana Mogudu (1992), King Uncle (1993), Suhaag (1994), Kadhalan (1994), Baashha (1995) and Lal Baadshah (1999). She began her acting career in Bollywood. Nagma has acted in a broad range of films in India's languages predominantly in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Bhojpuri films and has also additionally appeared in several other regional language films such as Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Punjabi Marathi.
Ravi Kishan Shukla, popularly known as Ravi Kishan, is an Indian actor, politician, film producer and television personality. He currently serves as Member of parliament, Lok Sabha from Gorakhpur. His film works are predominantly in Bhojpuri and Hindi cinema, as well as Telugu cinema. He has also appeared in a few Kannada and Tamil films.

Bhojpuri cinema, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Bhojpuri language widely spoken in the state of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with major production centres in Lucknow and Patna. The first Bhojpuri talkie film, Ganga Maiyya Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo, was released in 1963 by Vishwanath Shahabadi. The 1980s saw the release of many notable as well as run-of-the-mill Bhojpuri films like Bitia Bhail Sayan, Chandwa ke take Chakor, Hamar Bhauji, Ganga Kinare Mora Gaon and Sampoorna Tirth Yatra.
Sujit Kumar was an Indian actor and producer. He appeared in over 150 Hindi films in the 1960s through the 1990s, and in at least 20 Bhojpuri films. Sujit played the major lead actor in many films in Bhojpuri cinema whereas in Hindi films he played pivotal roles either as a villain or as a character actor. One of his most memorable screen appearances was of a friend playing the mouth organ while driving a jeep as Rajesh Khanna courted Sharmila Tagore in the 1969 film Aradhana. Beginning in the late 1980s through the 2000s, Sujit primarily worked as a film producer.

Sasura Bada Paisawala is a 2003 Indian Bhojpuri-language romance-drama film directed by Ajay Sinha, starring Manoj Tiwari and Rani Chatterjee. The film, released in 2003, cost about ₹30 lakhs to make, and was the highest grossing Bhojpuri film at that time.
Indu Sonali is an Indian film playback singer known for singing in item songs of Bhojpuri. She has sung for 300 Bhojpuri films and 50 music video albums and is considered as one of the top playback singers of the Bhojpuri film industry. Her music genre is primitive-acoustic folk with some traces of Indian classical music, ambient electronic and new age jazz fusion. Some of her most notable songs are "Lehriya Loot Re Raja" (Partigya), "Kahan Jaibe Raja Najariya", "Uthha Deb Lenga" (Damadji) and "Devar ho Daba Na Mor Karihaiya" (Rakhwala).
Bhojraj Bhatta, better known as Biraj Bhatta, is a Nepalese actor who is known for his work in Nepali cinema and Bhojpuri cinema. He has worked in some Nepali and Tharu language films as well. He has starred in more than 200 movies through different languages like Nepali, Bhojpuri & Tharu. He received National Film award for Best actor for Nepali movie Khal Nayak (2008).
The 64th National Film Awards was an award ceremony during which the Directorate of Film Festivals presents its annual National Film Awards to honour the best films of 2016 in the Indian cinema. The awards were announced on 7 April 2017, and the ceremony was held on 3 May 2017.

The Sabrang Film Awards are an awards ceremony recognizing the best of Bhojpuri cinema. The awards have been presented annually since 2014. The awards are given for the following categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Actor in A comic role, and Best Debut and many more.
The 68th National Film Awards ceremony was an event during which the Directorate of Film Festivals presented its annual National Film Awards to honour the best films of 2020 in Indian cinema. The awards ceremony was originally slated to be held on 3 May 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The winners were declared on 22 July 2022, and the awards were presented on 30 September 2022.
