Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, known professionally as Rajinikanth, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He is widely regarded to be one of the most successful and popular actors in the history of Indian cinema. Mime Gopi is an Indian stage and film actor who has appeared in predominantly Tamil films including Madras (2014), Kathakali (2016), and Kabali (2016). He is also the winner of the reality cooking show Cooku with Comali.
Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam is an unreleased Indian Tamil-language spy action thriller film directed and produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon. It stars Vikram leading an ensemble cast consisting of Ritu Varma, R. Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, Simran and Vinayakan. The film features music composed by Harris Jayaraj, whereas cinematography handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, S. R. Kathir and Vishnu Dev, editing done by Anthony.
Sandakozhi 2 is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by N. Linguswamy. A sequel to Sandakozhi, the film stars Vishal and Rajkiran reprising their roles from the first film, alongside Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. It also happens to be Vishal's 25th film. The film began production during September 2017 and was released on 18 October 2018.
Sketch is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Vijay Chandar and produced by Moving Frame. The film features Vikram and Tamannaah Bhatia in the leading roles for the first time, with Soori, Jangiri Madhumitha, Baburaj and R. K. Suresh among others portraying supporting roles. Abhishek Vinod is an Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil and Malayalam language films. After working as a model, he made his breakthrough as an actor in Veruli as a police inspector which has directed by Amudhavanan P and with a supporting role in Jeethu Joseph's Papanasam (2015). He later moved on to play leading roles, and appear in other high-profile Tamil films such as Sketch (2018).
Onaaigal Jakkiradhai is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language horror drama film written, directed and produced by JPR while music is composed by Adheesh Uthriyan. It stars Kabali Vishwanth, Riythvika, and Baby Amrutha in the lead roles. The music was composed by Addheesh Uthrian with cinematography by Magesh K. Dev and editing by Deepak. It was released on 5 January 2018 and met with negative reviews.
Petta (transl. Hood) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth in the titular role, alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, M. Sasikumar, Simran, Trisha, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan, Mahendran, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Aadukalam Naren, Munishkanth and Sananth. It follows Kaali, a newly hired hostel warden, who gets dragged to war after an old enemy, Singaaram, resurfaces.
Kabali is the soundtrack album, composed by Santhosh Narayanan for the 2016 Indian Tamil-language action crime film of the same name written and directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, starring Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte and Winston Chao. The soundtrack album featuring five songs with lyrics written by Kabilan, Vivek, Umadevi and Arunraja Kamaraj was released on 12 June 2016, at Chennai and was also released in Telugu, Hindi and Malay languages. Santhosh Narayanan won the Best Music Director Award at the 2017 Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards. Initially, he was nominated for the Best Music Director – Tamil award at the 2017 Filmfare Awards South, along with Arunraja Kamaraj, for Best Lyricist – Tamil, Best Male Playback Singer – Tamil for the song "Neruppu Da". However, Shweta Mohan won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Tamil for "Maya Nadhi".
Kaala is the soundtrack album for the film of the same name, starring Rajinikanth in the title role, produced by Dhanush and directed by Pa. Ranjith. The album composed by Santhosh Narayanan, in his second collaboration with Rajinikanth and Ranjith after Kabali (2016), features nine songs written by Kabilan, Umadevi, Arunraja Kamaraj, Arivu, Dopeadelicz, Logan and Roshan Jamrock.
