Kacie Cryer is an American college basketball coach, currently serving as an assistant coach for the Houston Baptist Huskies women's basketball team.

Cryer was formerly the head coach of McNeese State women's basketball team from 2016 to 2021. [1] Before being named head coach, Cryer served for eight seasons on Donald-Williams's staff at McNeese State as an assistant, helping lead the program to two NCAA tournament appearances. She earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 2008 and her master's degree in instructional technology from McNeese State in 2012.

On April 8, 2016, Cryer was announced as the new head coach of the McNeese State women's basketball program. [2]

On March 12, 2021, Cryer's contract was not renewed by McNeese State after leading the Cowboys to a sixth straight losing season. [3]

Houston Baptist

On August 2, 2021, Cryer was named an assistant coach for the Houston Baptist Huskies women's basketball team. [4]

Founded in 1939 as Lake Charles Junior College, it was renamed McNeese Junior College after John McNeese, an early local educator. The present name was adopted in 1970. George "Tic" Price is an American college basketball coach. He last coached the Lamar Cardinals men's basketball team. From 2002 to 2007, he served as head coach at McNeese State. Prior to that, he served as head coach of Memphis and New Orleans. Price’s daughter is Sports Illustrated model Chanel Iman, who married NFL wide receiver Sterling Shepard in 2017. He is married to the former Jamie Lynn Simms, and the couple has two children - son, Ryan, a college basketball coach who played for his father at McNeese, and daughter, Chanel. He has three grandaughters - Bella Grace Price, Cali Clay Shepard and Cassie Snow Shepard.

McNeese State Cowboys and Cowgirls Intercollegiate sports teams of McNeese State University

The McNeese Cowboys and Cowgirls are composed of 14 teams representing McNeese State University in intercollegiate athletics, including men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, and track and field. Men's sports include baseball and football. Women's sports include volleyball, tennis, soccer, and softball. The Cowboys and Cowgirls compete in NCAA Division I, with Cowboys football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), and are members of the Southland Conference.

Heath Martin Schroyer is an American college basketball coach, currently the athletic director at McNeese State, where he was head coach of the men's basketball team from 2018 until 2021. He has had previous head coaching stops at Portland State University (2002–05), University of Wyoming (2007–11) and University of Tennessee-Martin (2014–16).

Gerald Myers is an American former college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball team and the Houston Baptist Huskies men's basketball team and athletic director at Texas Tech University.

Autumn Rademacher is an American college basketball coach who is currently a women's basketball assistant coach at Arkansas State. Previously, Rademacher was head coach at the University of Detroit Mercy from 2008 to 2015. She came to the Titans after serving as an assistant coach at Green Bay for four seasons and Western Michigan for seven seasons. In her second season, she led the Titans to a second-place finish in the Horizon League, its best finish since the 1998–99 season. In her fourth year she led the Titans to the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) Championship with a win over the McNeese State Cowgirls, 73–62. She was hired as an assistant coach for the Arkansas State Red Wolves on June 8, 2015.

Melissa Lynne McFerrin is an American retired college basketball coach, having most recently served as head coach of the Memphis Tigers women's basketball team. McFerrin played point guard in college basketball at the University of Missouri from 1979–1983, reaching the Sweet 16 in 1982. She announced her retirement from coaching in February of 2021.

The Battle of the Border is the name of the athletics rivalry between the Cardinals and Lady Cardinals of Lamar University and Cowboys and Cowgirls of McNeese State University. The 2014–15 McNeese State Cowgirls basketball team represented McNeese State University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Cowgirls, led by eighth year head coach Brooks Donald-Williams, played all their home games at Burton Coliseum. They are members of the Southland Conference. The team completed the 2014–15 season with an 18–14 overall record and an 11–7 Southland Conference record. The Cowgirls, seeded fifth in the 2015 Southland Conference Tournament, fell to eighth seed Houston Baptist 68–70 in the first round of the Southland Conference tournament. They received an invitation to the 2015 Women's Basketball Invitational tournament. In first round play, the Cowgirls defeated the Furman Paladins. The 2014–15 season ended when the team fell to the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in the second round of the tournament.

The 2015–16 Lamar Lady Cardinals basketball team represented Lamar University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Cardinals, led by third year head coach Robin Harmony, played their home games at the Montagne Center and are members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season with a 12-19 overall record and a 7-11 conference record. Qualifying for the conference tournament, the Lady Cardinals won the first game against Houston Baptist and were eliminated by McNeese State.

The Cowboys finished the season 11–17, 8–10 in Southland play to finish in a three-way tie for eighth place. They failed to qualify for the Southland Tournament.
