Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authority (KEPA) is local environmental authority in Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was established in 1994. [1] As of 2021, Alhaji Jibrin Lawa was the general manager of the authority. [2] [3] [4] In 2018, Ibrahim Rigasa was general manager. [5]

History

Background

Established in 1994 and revised in 1998, KEPA address environmental problems in the state for sustainability purposes. [10]

Organization

The Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authority has a governing council consisting of the Secretary to the State Government who is the Chairman, and Permanent Secretary of various ministries. It also has a general manager, environmental representatives from the private sector and ministry of water resources, as well as a legal adviser. [11]

In 2009, the Kaduna State House of Assembly enacted a law to substitute the Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authority Edict No. 1 of 1998. This modification cuts across the following:

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian law enforcement agency that investigates financial crimes such as advance fee fraud and money laundering. The EFCC was established in 2003, partially in response to pressure from the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), which named Nigeria as one of 23 countries non-cooperative in the international community's efforts to fight money laundering. Nigeria has biodiversity in abundance which makes it thrive consideringly well. In 1950s, large areas of land were quite reserved as a protected area but unfortunately they no longer exist. Water supply and sanitation in Nigeria

Responsibility of water supply in Nigeria is shared between three levels of government – federal, state and local. The federal government is in charge of water resources management; state governments have the primary responsibility for urban water supply; and local governments together with communities are responsible for rural water supply. The responsibility for sanitation is not clearly defined.

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Nigerian politician

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a Nigerian politician and the incumbent Governor of Kwara State. He was previously the CEO of First Fuels Limited. He contested unsuccessfully for the governor of Kwara State in 2003, 2007 and 2011 respectively under the Congress for Progressive Change political party but was successively defeated by Abubakar Bukola Saraki in 2003 and 2007, and by Abdulfatah Ahmed in 2011. However in 2019 he contested again under the ruling political party in Nigeria APC and emerged as the governor of Kwara State, after he won the 2019 governorship election in the state. The 2023 Kaduna State gubernatorial election will take place on 11 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Kaduna State, concurrent with elections to the Kaduna State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election will be held two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Kaduna State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kaduna State. Kwari Suleiman Abdu representing Kaduna North, Sani Uba representing Kaduna Central both won on the platform of All Progressives Congress. while Laah Danjuma Tella representing Kaduna South returned to parliament on the platform of People's Democratic Party
