Kajiado East is a constituency in Kenya. It is one of the five constituencies in Kajiado County. [1] [2] It is further subdivided into 5 county administrative wards namely Kitengela, Kenyawa-Poka, Imaroro, Kaputei North and Oloosirkon Sholinke Ward.[ citation needed ]

The constituencies of Kenya are used to elect members of the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the Kenyan Parliament. In accordance with Article 89 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, there are 290 constituencies, based on a formula where these constituencies were to be delineated based on population numbers. Each constituency returns one Member of Parliament. The constituencies are further divided to electoral wards.

Sub-counties, also known as Districts, are the decentralised units through which government of Kenya provides functions and services. At national level, sub-counties take a more administrative function like security, statistical purposes, provision of government services, etc. Even though the sub-counties are divisions of counties, powers to create new national sub-counties lies with the national government. As of 2023, there are 314 sub-counties, compared to 290 constituencies. A deputy county commissioner is appointed by the state to lead each sub-county. The sub-counties are further divided into divisions, locations and sub-locations.

Keekonyokie ward is an electorate ward that was established in 2012 after devolution as per the Kenyan constitution of 2010 and was ranked as number 187 in Kenyan constituencies. Keekonyokie has a population of approximately 33,562 and was devolved from Kajiado North Constituency after devolution. Moses Saoyo became the second MCA for keekonyokie after Hon George Sunkuya is the current member of county assembly for Keekonyokie after the 2013 general elections. Keekonyokie is the most dense ward and the smallest in Kajiado West constituency with an area of 807 km2 and has Kisamis near Kiserian as the administration centre for the ward.

Kajiado West constituency is an electoral sub-county In Kajiado County Kenya. The current member of parliament is George Sunkuiya who came after winning 2017 election over Moses Ole Sakuda. Kajiado West has five wards, They include Keekonyokie, magadi ward, iloodokilani, Ewuaso oo nkidong'i ward and mosiro ward. Each of which has a member of the County Assembly. This constituency has a population of about 104,300 people and 52,453 registered voters. Kajiado west has major towns such as kiserian which also include Ngong Hills, ololoitikosh, kisamis, magadi and the Kiserian dam.

Embakasi North is a constituency in Kenya and one of the seventeen constituencies in Nairobi County. Embakasi North includes five electoral wards: Kariobangi North, Dandora Area I, Dandora Area II, Dandora Area III, and Dandora Area IV. The constituency has an area of 5.50 km2 (2.1 sq mi). It was created prior to the 2013 election when Kasarani Constituency and Embakasi Constituency boundaries were revised. The constituency forms part of two sub-counties of Nairobi; Kariobangi North falls under Kasarani while the Dandora area is in Njiru.

Most of the area that forms Embakasi West Constituency was part of Embakasi Constituency; though some of its areas were part of Kamukunji Constituency. Embakasi West includes four electoral wards: Umoja I, Umoja II, Mowlem, and Kariobangi South.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Joseph Manje</span> Kenyan politician

Joseph Wathigo Manje is a Kenyan politician, a teacher, and an entrepreneur, and currently the Member of Parliament for Kajiado North Constituency in Kajiado County. He is a member of the ruling Jubilee Party under President Uhuru Kenyatta. He previously served as a Commissioner at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) as well as the Electoral Commission of Kenya's (ECK) South Rift Presidential Election Zonal Coordinator. He also served as a teacher employed by Kenya's Teachers Service Commission. He has business interests in the leather and construction industries.
