The Sugarcubes Icelandic alternative rock band

The Sugarcubes were an Icelandic alternative rock band from Reykjavík formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1992. For most of their career, the band consisted of Björk, Einar Örn Benediktsson, Þór Eldon (guitar), Bragi Ólafsson (bass), Margrét "Magga" Örnólfsdóttir (keyboards) and Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums). Lead singer Björk would later become an internationally successful solo musician and the best selling Icelandic musician of all time.

One Little Indian Records is an English independent record label. It was set up in 1985 by members of various anarcho-punk bands, and managed by former Flux of Pink Indians bassist Derek Birkett. In the 1990s it set up a number of subsidiary labels.

Vilhjálmur Einarsson was an Icelandic track and field athlete, and triple-jump silver medalist at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. Vilhjálmur grew up in the East-Icelandic fishing village of Reyðarfjörður and was the son of Einar Stefánsson and Sigríður Vilhjálmsdóttir.

Feldberg is an Icelandic musical duo formed by Eberg and Rósa Birgitta Ísfeld from Reykjavík. Their debut album, Don't Be a Stranger, was first released in Iceland in 2009 on Cod Music. At the Icelandic Music Awards (IMA) in 2010, they were nominated for three awards and won for Best Song for their track "Dreamin'", which was subsequently featured on the Kitsune Compilation 9. Their music has been extensively used for advertising in Iceland; the airline Icelandair use "Dreamin'" as their in-flight music choice. The new Feldberg album will be released in 2012 and the band have featured some of the new songs at their latest concerts in Tokyo supporting Casio Kids and Le Corps Mince De Francois.

Skálmöld Icelandic folk metal band

Skálmöld is a Viking / folk metal band from Reykjavík, Iceland, formed in August 2009. The band's name is literally translated as Age of Swords and also means "lawlessness", referring to the Age of the Sturlungs of Icelandic history, when a civil war broke out between the country's family clans.

Rökkurró

Rökkurró is an Icelandic music group founded in 2006 in Reykjavík. After a 4-track EP, they were signed to 12 Tónar label. Their debut album was Það kólnar í kvöld... It was released in 2007 in Iceland, Europe and Japan to great critical acclaim, followed by a local tour in Iceland and an international tour that included Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland supporting Ólafur Arnalds. The follow-up album Í Annan Heim was released in 2010. It was produced by Alex Somers. Rökkurró began working on their third studio album, Innra, in 2013, released on October 27th, 2014.

Fufanu

Fufanu is an Alternative band from Iceland, formerly operating as a techno duo under the alias of Captain Fufanu. Huge, great, bleak towers of sound. Nimble rhythmic undercurrents. The twin and unlikely ghosts of both post-punk and electronic techno. Their 2015 debut, A Few More Days To Go, received positive reviews and critical acclaim and their much anticipated follow up, 2017's 'Sports', was generally well reviewed by critics. In January 2018 Fufanu went into their studio in Reykjavik with Alap Momin and they recorded 10 new songs, which they are going to release as a series of 3 eps over the next few months. The first release will be called dialogue i and will be out in June 2018. The first song from this session is Hourglass and was released in May 2018.

<i>Homogenic Live</i> 2004 live album by Björk

Homogenic Live is a live album by Icelandic singer Björk, collecting her favorite performances from her 1997-99 Homogenic Tour. It was Björk’s first tour to have soundboard recordings and thus the first of her live CDs to feature a wide variety of performances taken from different dates and venues throughout a single tour. Originally released in the 5 disc Live Box set in 2003, Homogenic Live was later released separately on 1 June 2004 by One Little Indian records.

Jófríður Ákadóttir Icelandic singer

Jófríður Ákadóttir, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her solo project JFDR as well as her work with Samaris, Pascal Pinon and numerous other musicians and musical groups. Her father is Icelandic composer and musician Áki Ásgeirsson.
