Kaleidoscope is a 2015 extended play (EP) by Courtney Act. [1] According to Nylon, the EP is a "meditation on gender and the artifice that comes along with social constructions". [2]
According to Queerty 's Timothy Allen, the title track "tells the story of how the traditionally separate colors of gender and sexuality are blurring into a kaleidoscope of possibilities". [3]
The music video for "Kaleidoscope" sees Courtney Act in drag, meeting and kissing a girl. The song served as the official theme of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in 2016. [4] [5]
Shane Gilberto Jenek, better known under the stage name Courtney Act, is an Australian drag queen, singer and television personality. Courtney first came to prominence competing on the first season of Australian Idol in 2003. After the show, she signed to BMG Australia, and she released her debut single, "Rub Me Wrong", which peaked at No. 29 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified Gold. While auditioning for Australian Idol, she became the first LGBTQ contestant to openly appear on a reality TV talent show. In 2014, Courtney was one of the runners-up in season six of RuPaul's Drag Race. Courtney is a member of the drag girl-group, The AAA Girls.

Gagged is an extended play (EP) recorded by American drag queen Violet Chachki, released on June 30, 2015, by Sidecar Records and Producer Entertainment Group. It was made available following her crowning as the winner of the seventh season of the reality competition series RuPaul's Drag Race. Chachki was inspired to create the record in order to have her own music and visuals for her performances. Consisting of five dance-pop, electronic, and avant-garde tracks, Gagged was released as a digital EP, and was also made available via streaming services. Its lyrics emphasize sexual fetishism and gender identity, based in part on Chachki's personal experience working as a dominatrix's assistant.
