Kalulushi Modern Stars is a Zambian football club. They play in division one - North of Zambian football, the Zambian League. Independence Stadium in Kalulushi, which has a capacity of 8,000, is their home. The club was formed after a split of the then Kalulushi Babes Football Club founded in 1962 into Kalulushi Modern Stars comprising mine employees and 11 Wise-men for municipal community in 1964? The two teams were both in division two.
Kalulushi Modern Stars FC won promotion to the top league then in Division 1 in 1969 after winning the league in Division 2 in 1968. A few other teams in Division 1 included Rhokana Utd, Bancroft Blades, Roan Utd, Mufulira Wanderers and Kabwe Warriors. However the team was demoted to Division 2 in 1971 but again won promotion to Division 1 in 1980. However, the league was re-structured to introduce the Super Division as the top league. The top 12 teams of the 18 teams in then top Division 1 comprised the Premier league. The remaining 6 teams in old Division 1 remained in the new Division 1 and were joined by the top 6 teams from Division 2 were Kalulushi Modern Stars FC topped the league. The new Division 2 comprised the bottom 6 teams from old Division 1 and top 6 teams from old Division 2. The remaining bottom 6 teams in old Division 2 were demoted to Division 3.
In 1983, Kalulushi Modern Stars FC first won promotion to Super Division. The team was demoted to Division 1 in 1996. Since then the team only got promoted to Super Division in 1997 and 2013. It remained in Division 1 and was even demoted to Division 2 in 2000. Currently, the team is in Division 1-North and after playing 17 games of the 34, it lies on second position with 33 points. The team aims for promotion to Super Division in 2016 season.

The J1 League or simply J1 is the top division of the Japan Professional Football League and the top professional Football J.League in Japan. It is one of the most successful leagues in Asian club football. Currently, the J1 League is the first level of the Japanese association football league system. Godfrey Chitalu nicknamed Ucar was a Zambian footballer who played as a forward. He is widely regarded as the greatest Zambian player of all time as he holds his national team's goalscoring record and was voted Zambian footballer of the year five times. As well, he was selected by CAF as one of the best 200 African footballers of the past 50 years in 2006. The Football Association of Zambia claimed that Chitalu scored more than 100 goals in all competitions in 1972, more than Gerd Müller's total in 1972 and Lionel Messi's total in 2012, both of which are often referred to by journalist as "world records". The research was presented in the year 2012 after Lionel Messi broke the alleged world record of Gerd Müller. Nevertheless, a FIFA spokesman declared that an official FIFA world record had never existed as they did not keep track of domestic competitions.

Platanias Football Club is a Greek professional football club based in Platanias, Chania, Greece. FC Union Berlin of Germany and Tunisian champions Esperance. Renowned for his dribbling skills, Mbasela was voted Zambian Footballer of the Year in 1990.
Jericho Shinde is a Zambian coach and former footballer. Nicknamed ‘Tanker,’ he was a star player for Rhokana United, winning four league titles and was also a linchpin in Zambia’s midfield in the eighties. After retirement, Shinde coached Nkana, Kalulushi Modern Stars and Power Dynamos.
Kenneth Malitoli is a Zambian coach and former footballer. Nicknamed 'Bubble', Malitoli is one of Zambia's most decorated players and was Zambian league top scorer in three consecutive seasons, as well as top scorer in Tunisia in 1993 and 1994. He is regarded as Nkana Football Club's most prolific striker after Bernard Chanda. He won the CAF Champions League with Tunisian club Espérance in 1994 and featured at four CAN tournaments in 1990, 1994, 1996 and 1998. Malitoli is currently coaching Zambian Division I South side Lusaka City Council.
George Sikazwe was a former Zambian footballer and coach, who played for Mufulira Wanderers and Zambia as a midfielder, representing his country before and after independence. He also served as Wanderers' coach and together with Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu, he is credited with masterminding the team’s early success.
The 2019 Zambia Super League is the 58th season of the Zambia Super League, the top-tier football league in Zambia. Due to the transitional calendar of the CAF competitions in 2018–19, the 20 teams in the league will be divided into two groups of ten teams stream A and stream B, one of teams from the north and one of teams from the south, Nkana leading one and Zesco United heading the other. The teams top two with the most points will qualify for the CAF Champions League then the other two will play the CAF Confederations Cup. The League will return to normal for the 2019–20 season. The league is set to kick off on the 27th of January, A day after the Charity Shield.
The Zambian National Division One is the second highest football division for men in Zambia and was introduced for the 2019/20 season with 18 teams. The league is administered by Zambia Premier League and is because of sponsorship reasons called Eden University National Division One League, as Eden University and FAZ signed a five year's agreement prior the inaugural season. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Zambia Super League and Zambian Division One, and is played over 34 games.
The FAZ Women Super Division is the highest league of women’s football in Zambia. It was established in the beginning of 2021 and is run by FAZ. The inauguration season features 12 teams from four provinces in Zambia.
