Kamar Gelap (Dark Room) is the second album by Indonesian independent music band Efek Rumah Kaca. Released on December 19, 2008, it received the 2010 ICEMA award for best album of the year.
The recording of Kamar Gelap was more concentrated in studio, unlike the first album (which recorded at the band members' houses). [1] Some musicians collaborated with Efek Rumah Kaca during recording, such as Ramondo Gascaro on "Laki-Laki Pemalu", [2] Ade Paloh provided backing vocals and Iman Fattah played guitar on "Jangan Bakar Buku". The Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M. and The Smiths are cited by the band as influences in the making of Kamar Gelap. [4] In "Lagu Kesepian", the music is progressive pop but melancholic. [2] [3] On "Laki-Laki Pemalu", waltz is dominating. [3] "Tubuhmu Membiru.. Tragis" has a "catchy" melody and "Balerina" has a pop style. [2]
The themes of the album are life style, love, phenomenon, environment and social critic. [1] [3] Social commentary can be found on "Mosi Tidak Percaya", with its lyrics regarding mistrust of the government [2] and "Jangan Bakar Buku". [3] Environmental themes can be found on "Hujan Jangan Marah" (about flooding) and "Banyak Asap Di Sana" (about economic equality and urbanization). [3]
Kamar Gelap was released on December 19, 2008, [1] [5] by Aksara Records. [3] The band claimed they captured social incidents and translated it into music. [6] To perfect it, they hired photographers to make interpretative photos of their songs. [3] On CD version, there is a fusion of the personnel's faces. [2]
More than 3,000 copies were sold in the first two weeks of release, [4] and the album was selected as ICEMA's The Best Album of 2010. [7]
Radja is an Indonesian rock band. The band formed in Jakarta on 17 March 2001, and originally consisted of lead vocalist Ian Kasela, guitarist Moldy Mulyadi, bassist Shuma, and drummer Adit. The band is currently based in Bogor. The band's name is the Indonesian word for "king". The band's debut album in 2001 was Lepas Masa Lalu which was not very popular. After this, the bassist and drummer left the band and were replaced by bassist Indra Riwayat and drummer Seno Wibowo. The next album, Manusia Biasa, released in 2003, sold only 60,000 copies. Their third album Langkah Baru, was a "repackaging" of tracks from the previous album plus three new tracks, which was released in 2004 and sold 1.2 million copies, going platinum. In 2006, the band released 1000 Bulan, an Islam-themed album, producing 75,000 copies which were only available during Ramadhan. The band's next album was launched in April 2008, titled Membumi.

Marjolein Tambayong, better known by her stage name Rima Melati, is an Indonesian actress and singer. Born in Tondano, Sulawesi, by the 1950s she had moved to Jakarta and become a model. After joining the girl group The Baby Dolls and taking a minor acting role, in 1961 Melati starred in her first film, Kasih Tak Sampai. Since then she has appeared in almost a hundred feature films, including works by Wim Umboh, Sjumandjaja, and Teguh Karya. For this oeuvre she has received multiple awards, including a PWI Award for Best Actress for Noda Tak Berampun, a Citra Award for Best Leading Actress for Intan Berduri, and five nominations for the Citra Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Abdul Hamid Arief was an Indonesian actor who appeared in more than 120 films. Born in Batavia, Dutch East Indies, he started his acting career in theatre before migrating to film with 1948's Anggrek Bulan. Sinestesia is the third studio album by Indonesian indie band Efek Rumah Kaca, released on December 18, 2015, on Jangan Marah Records. It was produced by Pandai Besi and the band. Recorded between 2009–15, Sinestesia is the band's first release since their 2008 album Kamar Gelap. A few days later, the album released with CD format by Demajors Independent Music Industry. All the singles were written by Cholil Mahmud.

The 2019 Sunda Strait earthquake occurred on the night of 2 August 2019, when a magnitude 6.9 earthquake rattled Sunda Strait at a moderate depth of 52.8 kilometres. The epicentre was located 214 km from Bandar Lampung, the capital of Lampung and 147 km west of Sumur, Pandeglang Regency. The earthquake struck with a maximum intensity of V (Moderate). The earthquake prompted a tsunami warning in the area, with authorities urging coastal residents to immediately evacuate to higher grounds.
