Kamel Boutayeb, known by his stage name Kamel the Magician (French : Kamel le Magicien), is a French prestidigitator and television presenter born in Livry-Gargan at Seine-Saint-Denis.
From 2010 to 2013, he hosted street magic shows, where he performed open-air tours before a public audience [1] everyday at Canal +. He was also the coproducer of these performances.
In 2013, he filmed a documentary, Kamel à Las Vegas, in which he met with several prominent American prestidigitators. A sequel to the documentary focuses on Japan, named Kamel à Tôkyô, which he made with the actor Steve Tran, where he seeks out several famous Japanese magicians.
For the 30th anniversary of Canal +, he hosted a show where he performs magical tricks on several of the channel's presenters, including Ophélie Meunier, Maïtena Biraben and Antoine de Caunes.
His DVD for Kamel le Magicien en live was released on the 27 October 2015, with recording at the Casino de Paris directed by Richard Valverde.
In the autumn of 2016, he participated in the seventh season of the show Danse avec les stars on TF1, alongside the dancer Emmanuelle Berne, [2] and finished tenth in the competition.
At a talk show on D8, questioned by journalist Audrey Pulvar about the tour which would constitute a "challenge" for him and which would mark "real progress", he immediately replied: "it's making Marine Le Pen disappear". This comment was lauded by Roselyne Bachelot, an opposing politician. [3] [4]

Le Grand Journal was a French nightly news and talk show television program that aired on Canal+ every weekday evening from 19:10 to 20:20. It debuted on August 30, 2004 and was created and hosted by Michel Denisot, succeeded by Antoine de Caunes and then later by Maïtena Biraben. Victor Robert took on the reins from 2016 to the program's end in 2017. Originally a one-hour program, it expanded to two hours in 2005. Even though the program was broadcast on the premium channel Canal+, it was a non-encrypted program.
Danse avec les stars is the French version of British TV show Strictly Come Dancing, first broadcast on TF1 on 12 February 2011, the participants having been selected in November 2010. The first series finale took place on 19 March 2011. A second series was broadcast between 8 October – 19 November 2011. Since then TF1 has chosen to broadcast the program once a year, in the autumn. The show has tentatively scheduled its thirteenth series to begin in 2024.
