Kangkung is a village in Hsawlaw Township in Myitkyina District in the Kachin State of north-eastern Myanmar. [1]
The climate of Kangkung is humid subtropical highland climate(Köppen climate classification Cwb). Temperatures are very pleasant throughout the year. There are only a few days above 30 °C in summer.
Ipomoea aquatica is a semi-aquatic, tropical plant grown as a vegetable for its tender shoots and it is not known where it originated. Plecing kangkung is a Southeast Asian spicy water spinach dish made from Lombok island, Indonesia. Plecing kangkung made from blanched kangkung leaf served cold with plecing sambal, made from ground red chili pepper, shallots, garlic, burned bird's eye chili, candlenut, kaffir lime, burned shrimp paste, a pinch of salt and sugar. As a side dish for Lombok Ayam taliwang dish, plecing kangkung usually also served with additional vegetables such as bean sprouts, string beans, fried peanuts and urap's grated spicy coconut dressing. Outside Lombok, plecing kangkung is also commonly served in neighboring island Bali.
Mie kangkung, is an Indonesian vegetable noodle soup with kangkung, usually served with bakso meatball and mushroom. It is of a specialty of Betawi cuisine, Jakarta, Indonesia. The yellow egg noodles come with a brown-colored thick soup, made of chicken or beef broth, which is thickened with tapioca, spiced and mixed with garlic and kecap manis. Other ingredients include bakso meatballs, bean sprouts, mushroom, hard boiled quail eggs and sprinkled with bawang goreng and added with dash of kaffir lime juice and sambal.
